Yes, no matter what party they are. You want someone with christian morals and values, BUT they also have to live it!!

A Christian can, in good conscience, be either a democrat or a republican? There is a lot more to being a Christian than being anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage. Is feeding and caring the poor a Christian value? Yes, it is, and the democrats do that better than the republicans. Is caring for the environment a Christian value? Yes, and again the democrats have a better track record.

My point is this, as a Christian, you have to acknowledge that neither the democrats nor the republicans are right on all the issues that should concern Christians. So, there needs to be Christians on both sides.

bad things happen when religion and politics get to close. "Christian values" is not even a concept that christians fully agree on. having a government determine policies based on one religion that is not even consistent, is beyond unconstitutional. It turns our nation into a dictatorship of the majority religion. That may seem fine if you happen to agree with it in the moment, but falls apart when you don't fall into that group. 150 years ago, many a good christian would have felt it was perfectly acceptable to own slaves, beat wives and and not allow women to vote. These things have changed now, but it shows how easily things can get out of hand without checks and balances that prevent any one special interest group from holding too much power, even if that group is the majority.

Neither God, Jesus or any other biblical figure ever encouraged followers to be so damn focused on the politics of man. no government run by man will ever be but so just. Any man can claim to be a christian or any other religion, but it is his acts that define him. Simply being a republican or Democrat cannot make you a better or worse christian.

I'll vote for a conservative regardless of which party they represent. Today's democrats, however, vary rarely convey honest christian values... with that said, there are many republicans who uphold christian values themselves.

Vote for the person, not the party!

I know many Christian Democrats. Being conservative is limited to the Republican party. Bluedog Democrats were conservative before the Republican Party went that way.

Vote for the person, not the party.

No....Jesus was a radical liberal who loved the whole world and paid dearly for it. Republicans think only of the survival of companies and the wealthy getting wealthier. The Democrats are liberal and are responsible for social improvements like Unions, Social Security, the GI bill, the list is endless. Jesus would be a shoe in if he Jesus ran for President but that won't happen because he is not of this world. Would the Republicans, the fundamentalists, like that?

Good question, Marion:

We noticed, or should I say the Democrats noticed the votes they lost over abortion and gay rights. Now they have played down the issues and are acting like Republicans. So...

Let us wait and see what comes up. Not all are honest to their campaign statements.

God may hold us accountable if someone does not uphold His principles--where do we look? Think they crucified Him 2,000 years ago.

One thing for certain, things will get worse so we need put our hope in the Supreme One who controls the worlds.

Blessings, One-Way

How about supporting the candidate that upholds the Constitution? Leave religion out of politics, live and let live. As long as you make religion a political tool, no one is safe from dogmatists.

I'm a Christian, and I could NEVER be a Republican. I agree with them on the abortion issue, but everything else they stand for makes me sick to my stomach. I could never support a party that cares so little for for the poor, for the elderly, or for children after they have been born. I feel like they have tried to hijack my religion.

I do not think that your political preferences has anything to do with Christian principles. The Lord tells us to obey His Commandments and to obey "our" laws, so I try to vote in the end for who will do the best for our nation as well as for Israel and other Christ-driven countries; that is, when voting for Federal officials. For state and local races, we should support the candidate that is Christ-Driven. But do we, God's children, have that knowledge here on earth? We need to try harder and be open to LISTEN to what God urges us to do.

Republicans are for big business. Democrats are for justice. We've let two or three issues BECOME the whole debate. Christians have to examine the candidates and issues and decide for themselves just like everyone else.
