You need to clean your ears frequently after piercing until they are completely healed. I had to have one of mine redone recently because it closed up. The store recommended leaving the earrings in for at least 6 weeks and cleaning them 3-4 times a day with a solution the store gave me. Also, if the earrings are cheap you could be allergic to the metal. Good quality gold or stainless steel earrings should be used.

I assume you are meaning leukemia (cancer of the blood/bone marrow).
There is no known definitive cause for this, for anyone to say that ear piercings are a known factor are absolutely incorrect.

Not quite sure how ear piercings could possibly cause leukemia..which is cancer of the blood. You either get it or you don't...nothing causes it.

I have never, ever heard that, it sounds like she's making it up to scare you. There is no possible way that I can imagine that piercings could cause leukimeia.
