Im trying to save this DVD I bought to my computer but it wont let me. I need to have it saved as an .avi so i can go and edit the movie and put certain clips of it in a power point presentation...HOW DO I DO THIS PLZ!!!!!!

You have to have software called a DVD ripper to do that. Because the format of a DVD is different than a computer, it requires a "ripper" to convert it. Go to http://download.com and search for DVD ripper. They have a couple free ones available.

Oh, it might not work if this is a commercial, copyrighted DVD with file protection on it. That will prevent you from copying anything off of it. (Not to mention it is illegal to do).

I am not sure that you can... You can try by opening windows media player. Load the DVD file. Click on rip, and choose the file. Then you can load the file and choose file type to rip as.
