I think all religions have some form of Nemesis.
Buddhists believe that only you can stop yourself from enlightenment, but in essence that makes you the villian. Most of the others have a clearly defined bad guy. Although, perhaps there are some tribal religions that worship ancestors, who don't believe in evil spirits, but I haven't heard of them.
I think that having an nemesis, creates situations that allow us to justify evil and even justify our own acts of violence and hate.
Personally I think it is just human nature.

I think that most religions that do not have an eternal judgement clause,as a penalty for abusing the right of free will and call into account,personal responsibility,will receive much less heat and have far fewer enemies.
