The best place to travel in the caribbean depends on YOU and YOUR interests The reason being that the different caribbean islands are so diverse and offer different packages.
Some islands offer the Traditonal Sun Sand and Sea vacation whereas some lean more towards the Nature/Ecotourism Side.
If you are looking for night life and great beaches then islands such as Barbados, Aruba Antigua etc are excellent.
But if you are looking for an island which is not over-crowded with tourists..has a diffeent culture to experince withought being expesive And you jsu want beautful serene Nature at its PUREST best then the island of Dominica will have to be the place(N.B not to b mistaken with the spanish speaking island of Dominican Republic which alos is an island in the Caribbean)
* It is THE island for the adventurous
*The main island where Pirates of the Caribbean 2&3 was filmed-visiting the many majestically beautful sites where the movies was filmed itself is an adventure.

*Branded as the whale whatching Capital of the Caribbean-exceelent for both whale and dolphin wathcing
*Rated 2nd all best Scuba and Snorkelling destination in the entire Atlantic By Readers Choice Magazine 2007
*Has 360 rivers-one for each day
*Most volcanic Mountainous island in the world(according to land ratio)
*rated as the 4th MOst peaceful place in the world
*We do not have white sand beches but rather Honey Coloured and Black sand.
We have the Largest Boiling lake of Its kind in the world and the only 1 in the western hemispher
*Uncountable waterfalls due to the numerous rivers.and rugged terrain.some waterfalls being discovered to this day
*A world Creole Music festival every year and also a pre lenten Carnival every yr also
*The most heavily virgin forested island in the caribbean
*The tallest mountain is 4747 ft-there is a trail to hike there where two of the worlds most endangered parrots which are endemic to Dominica live..The Amazona Imperialis and the Amazona Aurausiaca
*Wonderful Areail Tram- which rides deep into the forest.

There are many other things to do here such as Atv riding through the forest and Horse back riding River tubing etc but iI willl leave you to view the website
If you choose my island -i would jus like to say welcome in advance

While there are many large islands you can visit (Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Jamaica, etc.), I feel that if I went back, I would want to visit some of the smaller ones in the chains.

Little Whale Cay in the Bahamas, Indigo Island, and others would be at the top of my list, but they are so out of my league!

I love Bahamas because I love to go out snorkeling and I love the Blue Lagoon which is a little island you can take a glass bottom boat out to. They do a pork BBQ out there, have a ton of hammocks to just laze in, a small lagoon that passes thru the island, and you can swim with dolphins there or with stingrays. It's just awesome, and great for adults or for kids.

If you don't have to do the islands, then I would absolutely do Belize! There you can do all the normal beach stuff, but have access to other mainland events. I especially want to do the cave tubing, where you ride tubes throughout a maze of caves in and out of the dark. I have friends that said it was an amazing experience. They also have the second largest barrier reef in the world - what an awesome thing. I could spend days just snorkeling there.

Also, from Belize, I believe you can catch trips to the rainforest, Incas, and many other great destinations.

If it's just plain beach you want, then I would consider Jamaica, Barbados, or Aruba.

Whatever you choose, have a blast!

Jamaica, it is cheaper than the rest of the carribean, it is beautiful, and the native food is delicious, better than the Bahamas. Go to an all inclusive resort, you can get a package deal for airfare, hotel, food and drink, activities may also be included such as boating, scuba and other water sports.
