Skybus is dirt cheap, and i'd like to know if there are any other ones in the US that are like that, or how you can get around some airlines and still not pay an arm and a leg.Just asking.

Skybus is the really the only airline that cheap. Even the other "low-fare" airlines are less stripped-down. However, even with Skybus, you're probably not going to get as good a deal as it may seem. They are offering promotional $10 one-way fares, but these are only a way of getting attention - in reality there are very few of these fares available. Plus they don't include taxes and fees. Also they charge for literally everything. Checking a bag costs $5 each (for the first 2 bags then it's $50). You don't even get a free can of Coke, they charge for that too (ok that's that such a big deal, a can of Coke is about all you get on most domestic flights anyway). They also have a similar boarding process as Southwest, where there's no assigned seating - except instead of giving the first chance of boarding to those who check in first, Skybus gives the first chance of boarding to those who pay a $10 fee. So not only do they treat passengers like cattle, they nickel and dime you as well. They'd probably charge you for air to breathe if they could. One more note about Skybus: They basically admit on their website that they don't have a customer service phone number and they have very few customer service agents at the airport, so if anything goes wrong with your flights, it could be very difficult to get anything done about it. So I guess in the long run you pay for what you get. Oh - and they fly into less convenient airports - like instead of Boston, where I live, they fly out of Portsmouth, NH - so maybe it's a smaller and more pleasant airport but it's an hour from Boston so it would probably cost me more to take a shuttle to the airport or drive and park at the airport than I would save in airfare by flying Skybus.

I've always found the best deals for airfares through the individual airline's websites. And it's a myth that JetBlue or Southwest or the other "low-fare" airlines are always the cheapest. I almost never fly those airlines because it seems like they're no cheaper in the long run. Lately I've been finding the cheapest flights on USAirways.

Considering that Skybus is trying to be like Southwest you already have your answer.

Oh and having your hub as that black hole called Columbus isn't a smart move.
