Why not call your local police department and see if you or your class can get a tour. Might change your mind.

I wonder if there's something in your life you want to run away from, because I've thought about threatening to kill myself/someone else before just so they'd put me in a mental institution for a while, and I could get away from life (Thankfully, I've always resisted the urge). And, yes it's possible to have a 'great' life and still want to run away from it, a lot of people run away from the mundane/boring, and responsibility. I want to do that a lot.

But, it's not really productive to run away like that. It doesn't work, and once you've been in juvenile detention for a few months you'll feel so trapped you wish for nothing more than to get back in the world where you have the freedom to even walk the streets the way you'd like. Sure, make a change in your life, utilize what's bothering you and make it into something better, but don't just try to run away from it. It'll come back for you, and be all the worse next time.

Being not quite happy as an adolescent/teenager is normal. Why not talk to your parents or a close relative or sibling or even a neighbor. Happiness is not a 100% thing but comes in steps and degrees.

Juvenile detention is not the place to solve your problems. What you need to do is go to an ER and ask for mental health counseling.

You need to talk to a professional that can help you to overcome your feelings...In order for you to go to a juvenile detention you would have to get in trouble. And that is something you will regret for the rest of your life...It is nothing nice, or exciting in a juvenile detention...Ask your parents for some support and help finding a psychologist....I hope that helps you...

Why do you think a correctional facility will make you happier? There are other options. For instance, you could go to a therapist. They would probably help you a lot more than breaking the law so you can go to jail. Maybe you need medication, let the therapist determine if a referral is needed for a psychiatrist. I think, in the end, you'd be much happier having made the decision to stay out of detention.

Juvenile detention-as in jail for kids? Yes it is strange. What you need to do is ask your parents to take you to the dr.

You're trying to escape your daily life and it sounds like you are craving more structure. Instead of going to juvie, why not look into summer camps? Talk to your parents about needing to "get away" and be on your own for a while. Maybe it would be good for you to go on a missionary trip to Mexico or something.

Here's a list of a million different camps. Some of theme are military themed. Maybe that would be something you would like.

If you are involved in church, ask your pastor if there are any missionary opportunities s/he is aware of.

Here's a couple of different mission trips you could go on.

Talk to your parents about this. I think it will change your life! :)

Good luck! :)

theres many people who want the experience of being in jail, its actually a good thing fufill it now and not later since later youd be put in the adult jail which ive only seen pictures and they are where many lives end due to murders in the jail, to get into juvie you need to do something bad, arson is one thing that will surely put you there, stealing a car, beating someone up. just about any felony, but stealing that DVD from the library aint gonna help ya.

You may need to talk to someone. Someone you can trust or someone who can give you an unbiased opinion on the matter.
Do you feel as if you are out of control and you need help or do you feel your sanity is leaving you?

It is normal at your age to have thoughts of not being happy. I went through it. Look into talking to a counselor or a therapist. They may help you get to the root of your unhappiness.

You don't want to do that. There are levels that you have to work up. Like level 1 you have NOTHING. No phone calls, no nothing. Then after you're good and obey the rules, you get moved up to level 2 where you get some priviliges. Just what are you planning on doing to get yourself there? It's not like you can just walk in and say "hi, I want to be here b/c I think my life sucks"

Well.... one thing you can do to get you put away is threaten to hurt yourself. It won't get you to juvie, but you'll be taken away for a few days. Thing is, afterwards you'll have to have therapy and things like that. But if you're not happy, it seems to me that you might need a cry for help like that.

If you REALLY want to do something like that... you call the cops and say, "I'm going to kill myself/cut myself/hurt myself."

Get some help, honey... you don't want to go through life like this... life can be so much better... trust me...
