yea, i understand that they want us to leave and don't want to be in war anymore (who really does) but i don't hear any of them explaining the repercussions about what will happen if we leave and how to prepare for it? i wish they give us an answer but they seem to slide around the question....hmmmm.....

It's unfortunate, but there will be other terrorist attacks on American soil, and these will happen whether or not we are in Iraq.
I must admit that Rush, Fox, etc. are doing a pretty good job at brainwashing the right wing on this issue...even ones like the poster who obviously is not all too educated.
The folks that want us to simply pack up and leave Iraq tomorrow are a slim minority, and do not represent mainstream democrat or even moderate-liberal thinking... What we need to do, however, is to figure out how much more 'good' we can do over there, get it done, and then leave. We need to force the legitimate Iraqi government to hold itself accountable for its country's stability...we need to work with the UN to bring in peacekeeping forces to take some of the burdon off the United States and the ever-shrinking "coalition of the willing" (don't forget Poland!). The interests of the United States of America are NOT served by giving the executive branch a blank check for the Iraqi war and not demanding accountability.

Democrats just don't understand... They are too pacifistic to understand... If we leave the war on terror unfinished, the Islamic extreamists are emboldened and will come here if we don't stop them over there... The islamic extremists and the poison they spread is far worse than Adolf Hitler's Third Reich could ever have been... Imagine having September 11th... Every day... The streets of our major cities, like downtown Baghdad, will be full of IEDs and the blood and bodies of our citizens will cover the ground.
Islamic extremism must be stamped out wherever we find it... Our very existance as a nation depends on it... The peace of the whole world depends on it...
We must finish the job at whatever the cost...
A wise man once said... "The Tree Of Liberty Must At Times be Watered With The Blood Of Tyrants And Patriots... That wise man was Thomas Jefferson... This statement rings true today more than ever...
Has America lost it's desire to fight for Liberty? Has America lost it's identity? If so, than it is only a matter of time before we cease to exist as a nation and pray 5 times a day to Allah...
The Democrats are dangerous and they know not what they do... They are litterally dancing with the Devil...
When the end comes, I will die fighting the Islamic Bacillus as an American Patriot in the streets of our cities before I will succumb to Islam and it's horrors...
God Bless The USA!

Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. The Bush Administration are incompetent and did not plan anything after a military victory and now suffer the consequences. Iran should had been attacked since they are well known to sponsor terrorism and there was NEVER any proof that Saddam Hussein safeguarded terrorist as the Iranians have and still do.
The Bush Administration should had gone to war with Iran, but only after creating a coalition with Middle Eastern countries as was done in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
Police NOT soldiers are the appropiate personnel for what is happening in Iraq. The Shias and Sunnis are muslims but kill each other since they have differences in worshipping Allah

Well first I would like to point out that IRAQ had nothing to do with 911. I wouldn't even consider Iraq part of the "war on terror".....until recently.
Number of suicide attacks in Iraq before our invasion = 0
Number of suicide attacks since our invasion = 100+
I think the consensus among Democrats and a handful of Republicans, is that our presence is Iraq is only contributing to the violence. Our presence is helping to grow anti-American sentiment in the entire middle east in general. Basically we are creating more terrorists than we are killing, and we are really just providing fodder to terrorist organizations to recruit anyone who doesn't like us.
Remember, there were no insurgents until after our invasion....there was no "Al Queda in Iraq" until after our invasion. Even now, those who call themselves Al Queda in Iraq, are really just wannabees using the name....because they think that somehow it's going to scare us away. This doesn't mean that they are directly affiliated or supported by Al Queda the organization. That's like a kid from Beverly Hills calling himself a "blood, or crip" gang member....and then he starts pulling drive-by's. Doesn't really make him a member, just a wannabee..
The idea that a phased pullout, is a "cut and run" strategy, or that it will contribute to "defeat" is ludicrous. This is a war without a goal. There is no way to claim victory. There is no mission at this point.
Ask yourself.....at what point can we say that we are victorious ? When insurgents stop attacking ? When the oil flows freely ? or maybe everyone in Iraq will suddenly lay down their arms, hold hands and sing kumbaya ! ?
You might as well call Iraq our 51st state, because none of that is ever going to happen.
The entire region of the middle east has been in sectarian conflict for thousands of years. Before 911, before Saddam Hussein, before Bush, and before America ever existed. No amount of "troop buildup", or "win hearts and minds" campaign is going to change that.
Additionally......how do you defend the homeland, when all of your troops are overseas ?
Most people don't realize....if we pulled back every troop, from every point in the world that we have out there...we could line our borders every 3 feet with an armed marine.
So what happens when a country with a 40 million man army decides to invade us ? Let say for example....KOREA ! How do we defend ourselves ?
Our presence in Iraq is not making us safer...that much is proven and certain. Having our troops at home is the ONLY thing, that will make us safer.
I think we should pull every troop out NOW, and leave a covert CIA presence in that country for the next 50 -100 years.

Pulling the troops out has nothing to do with solving the problem over there. Everyone I talk to who favors that strategy thinks that nothing can be done, that we've already lost, they just want Americans to stop dying.

They just want to help us. We are spending so much over there at a high cost to our own welfare and domestic programs. Our own country is a mess. Orr health care system is a joke. Also we are losing so many American Citizens over there, it is terrible. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. We should use our money to fix our problems.

Depends on what problem you are talking about.
It will solve the problem of US troops dying, thats for sure.
It will solve the problem of being involved in a war that was predicated on LIES.
NOTHING WE DO will end the violence in Iraq short of killing everyone there, and then more would come and fight all over again.
It is a CIVIL WAR now that has gone on for ages, that saddam hussein disallowed with a iron fist. What he would do to the fighters is far worse than what they are doing to each other, hence no sectarian violence while he was president.
So yeah it'll solve that problem.

Because they don't have a grip on reality, they are just hoping to appease uneducated voters, and they will do anything to try to diminish this presidency. The dems don't actually care about the troops or where they are, they just are thinking of themselves.

what does 9-11 have to do with Iraq?
The democrats arent the only ones who want out of Iraq ... but for arguments sake lets say they are ... If you think staying over there is the right thing to do, what will staying in Iraq solve or prevent?
because to me ... winning this war means there are not young muslims growing up hating America and wanting to kill us ... and us being there has the opposite effect ... now, i'm not saying I know what to do ... but I am saying we have been wrong from day 1
