Hey, im 24 and really hate work. I just started a new job a week ago and i want to quit already, im working with disabled children. I know if i stay things will get better im sure..or worse, but i feel like im going through a stage right now where work is the last of my worrys. I need the money but i dont wanna work, its not that im lazy, i do a million other things during the day. I dont wanna quit this job cause my aunt helped me get it, so i kinda have too stay in it for awhile.
Its bad i know, I called in sick on friday and now im debating too do it again today...its awful i know, but how do i get out of this rut?

You sound like millions of us. Calling in sick after a week is not a good sign. You may need a part-time job if you can afford it. If not, you can quit and wait for a week or two and then go to a temp place, turn down work and then go file unemployment. I've been through more than one of these stages and yes, you do need a break for awhile. I don't think your lazy-I would fix up the house, work out at the Y, etc...Your just not mentally or intellectually stimulated by the boring monotonous daily grind nor do you like the office politics and headgames involved. Your best hope is to find a job where you get a lift to your step-something that makes you at least halfway care. Make sure you have a good resume, cover letter and some references and just look for something that you think may be fun. All work is boring. I've been a dispatcher, geologist and quality control technician. Bathing Shania Twain gets boring if you do it 40 hours a week or more. You have got to play the hand your dealt. Being a woman, you can at least look for someone rich and marry them! But for now, do what you got to do. Don't think about. When it's time to go to work, then go.

I don't know what you do to help these children; but you need to realize how important your job really is. Disabled children need you more than other children do who are completely whole. You should go to work everyday knowing what a blessing you are to those children; and do everything that you can to brighten up their life. You could give them hope and encouragement to over come some of the disabilities. You can be an inspiration to them just by changing your attitude. You are whole and healthy and you can give them so much. Just having a special place in your heart for them and treating them in a loving and caring way could make all the difference in the way they turn out. You have a wonderful opportunity to do great things in your job. You could even extend into more detailed areas doing things to give the children chances for advancements in their lives. So many can still live productive lives and make a living for themselves. All because someone thought enough of them to think beneath the surface. You have an opportunity to do great things in your job. Maybe branch off to who knows what directions. When you have a passion for something the results can be endless for you and your children.
Good luck to you. May you find a special place to help that will satisfy you completely. The sky is the limit. Go for it.

Do it for the children. They need you. Im sure it will get better. If it doesnt then look for another job your happy at. At least give it 3 months. Sounds like you have some depression? Maybe its not the job?

The problem is that even though, we should "work to live", most times it feels that *we live to work* instead.
The solution is not very easy to find, but if you do find it, you're saved:
Finding a job that involves doing something you really love, then instead of feeling like you're going to jail daily, it will feel like it's another wonderful day full of life.

it's called grow up and take responsibility for your actions.
at 24 you have bills to pay, you have needs to meet. if you don't do it, who will? you gonna lose that job and hope someone else helps you find another? you gonna go on welfare and let society support your butt? or are you going to do the responsible thing and put your energies into making a success of your life that you can point to with pride? choice is yours.

sounds like you're in quite the debacle...
well no matter what you do in this situation its not going to be fun.
The best you can do is weigh the pros and cons of each decision and choose one. Then stick that decision out to the fullest. I think the worst you can do is half a$$ either move.
Ask you're friends too
Good luck

Why ? Doe's it bother you to help people in need ,,,,, ? Does it upset you to see the people in thesse situations? Or do you feel taking care of these blessed people is asking to much from you ? which ever \maybe it is better you leave ... these people need someone who want's to be there they deserve 110% percent of the person who is caring for them... get out not you are not needed .... these children are exstention's of GOD......
