I live with a headache that would make anyone cringe. I've had it for the better part of a year and sometimes it's bad enough that I can't even see straight. No OTC medice has ever helped, even in the slightest, and if I ever tell anyone they just tell me to take more aspirin, tylenol, or whatever else they find in the medicine box. Changing sleeping or eating habits doesn't help either.

I get a headache every day. I was sent to a neurologist after my family doctor, allergist and ENT checked me out. He gave me some anti-depressants that are used for chronic pain. I take Excedrin on a daily basis, and at least with the other pills, the headaches go away for the better part of the day when I take them. It might be worth it to you to get checked out.

Just a temporary fix to the problem but it works very well. I have been using this treatment on clients for a very long time and it only takes 2 fingers and works fairly quickly. Acupressure. First you need to know that a cun is the width of YOUR thumb. Second the easiest way to find GV 20 is to place your thumbs on the highest point on each of your ears and use your index fingers to meet in the center of your head. make sure you keep your fingers in line with your thumbs. I am going to tell you 2 acupressure points to access (touch and put pressure on) that will at least temporarily get rid of the headache. st 36- 1.5 cun below the patella (kneecap) in a depression latteral to the pattelar ligament( to the outside of your leg kind of between the two bones), your knee should be flexed. You will feel a slight depression. GV20- 7 cun above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, 5 cun abovve the midpoint of the anterior hairline. Midway on a line connecting the apex of both ears (see above description) in a depression slightly anterior to a larger depression. GV20 is about where your fontnel (soft spot) was when you were born. When you touch these spots you will find them to be a bit on the tender side. this tenderness is because of the dysfunction or blockage of the meridian ( line of energy or life force). Gently depress these spots in a circular fashion slowly increasing the pressure. Access both spots at the same time. You will soon feel either a fair lessening or complete relief from this headache. It cannot cause you any injury so go ahead and try it. I have never known anyone to not respond to ridding themselves of migraines by accessing these two points. I would still follow up with your regular doctor as there could be something they are missing but, like I mentioned, this is a wonderful if temporary fix. There are also points for the nausea, dizziness, and insomnia. The tension and spasm could be a result of having the headache. Massage could work for the tension and spasms if you can get rid of the headache. Sounds also like you are in a self perpetuating circle of dysfunction...you have a headache that causes tension which causes a worse headache which causes more tension and so on and so on.Good luck In health and well-ness In health and well-ness

Sounds like Migraines or Cluster Headaches. See your doctor and explain the symptoms. Ask him to prescibe you Imitrex. Hopefully you have some kind of medical or prescription drug coverage as this is an expensive medication. If your headaches respond to this medicaiton, you definitely have Migraines.
Cluster headaches are similar to migrines, but it is from one to ten heaches in the same area at the same time,
When I get the clusters, the Imitrex helps to break them up and end the cycle for a while. I have gone a year now without any meds. Mine feel like someone is trying to pull my eye out of it's socket form the backside, I am sensitive to light, nauseated and the only relief if I can get it, is to put myself in a dark room and put a cold rag on my head.
Definitely see your doctor, there is no OTC that will help.

Why would you let it go a year without getting some help? I don't see how you have stood it. There has to be something that can take away the pain. If you have a regular doctor; call him and ask for an appointment. There are lists longer than you are tall of reasons that could be causing your headaches. Get help. You need relief.

I had the same problem Eric and you know what i found out. I had sleep apnea. I would stop breathing in my sleep and i would wake up in the morning with bad headaches because my brain wasnt recieving all the oxygen it was suppose too. Have a sleep test done. Some places do them free some charge no more then 25 dollars. Get you one of those eye masks that girls wear. Heat it for about 5 minutes in the microwave and lay in bed with no t.v, noise, or lights. Sit that on your eyes and make sure your head is elevated with about 3 pillows. Get some hypoallergenic pillowcases and bed sheets to make sure dust mites from your bed arent triggoring your allergies. See if all these things help!!!! No need to thank me lol!

Get your optometrist to refer you to an ophthalmologist. This is a highly trained eye specialist who will be able to help root out the problem. He or she will put you through a battery of painless and non-invasive eye tests. They may even order an optical CT scan.

Don't delay. But then again, if your year-long headache was anything really serious, you'd probably be suffering worse problems by now.

Try the strongest brand of Motrin you can find. All the other pills don't work. This stuff is like Codeine.

Dude, there is a thing called a doctors office. You may want to actually walk into one. These headaches can be anything including a tumor. SEE A DOCTOR.

First, how much water a day are you drinking? You may be dehydrated. If you are drinking enough water, then
go see an eye doctor. You may need glasses. I was have REALLY bad headaches and then I went to the eye doctor, found out I needed glasses and now I don't have them anymore.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
