I'm thinking of gong to a tanning bed, but have never gone before. I need 2 know what 2 expect. Do they lean the beds between people or should I take wipes and clean it off myself? Do I get in nude? Do most people weat swimsuit bottoms in? Do they provide eye covering or do I need to buy some sort of eye protection? I'm sorta pale, how long should I stay in and how do I build up my time in the bed? Do I bring my own sun screen or is there some there 4 me to use? Any other suggestions about how to get a nice, even tan?

Cleaning = They usually have a spray cleaner with paper towels in the room and you clean it off before getting in
Nude? = You can either get in nude most people do or you can waer a bathing suit or even panties and a bra It all depends on do you want tan lines or not
Eye covering = Most places do not provide eye covering however they usually have some you can buy or you can get it cheaper at any Wal-mart or drug store
Time length= Usually the tanning place will have a time limit of 15 minutes ev ery 24 hours and for me (I'm very pale) thats plently of time to get a nice even tan
Sun Sceen = At Wal-mart you can buy a tanning lotion that comes with eye covering for like $10 and its for tanning beds it works great!

I started tanning at like 15 years old I use tanning goggles for my eyes but I still don't open them because I'm scared haha I know it sounds stupid but whatever your comfortable with. I ONLY use the stand up beds because I rather not lie down its just what I perfer and I turn in slow circles to even my tan but you don't need to seeing as how the lights are all the way around the booth
I hope you enjoy your new experience and Have Fun!

I have been going to a tanning salon for about a year now. When I first started I was right where you are.. completely clueless.
Okay heres the story.
When you go for the first time (they ask you if you ver have gone before and what to expect) you then fill out a questionairre (like you would at a doctors office) which asks about allergies original eye, hair, skin color. It doesnt fail to ask any questions. I guarantee anything you think they would or should ask they do.
From then they have this program where they fill in your information and it says how long you should lay in the bed.. and at what voltage of lights. You will hardly notice any results your first couple of times.. you have to build of a very unnoticed base first.
Eyewear.. I have been to someplaces where they offer stickers where you place them on your eyes..one time use.
It becomes easier to buy your own (they offer them at all salons) for just a couple bucks.
They always clean the bed after every use.
It is common to tan nude if you wish to have no tan lines.
If you wish to build up a tan quick I would recommend going every other day or every 2 days until you get the look you want.
I hope i helped..

Depending on your skin tone the person working at the salon should be able to suggest a time period for you first time. I am very fair and I usually go in for 5-10 minutes the first time. They do clean the beds after each use. You can wear a bathing suit if it makes you feel more comfortable. I personally perfer to tan in the nude so I don't have any tan lines. They should provide eye goggles for you. And you don't want to wear sunscreen because that would defeat the person. They will tanning lotions you can purchase but you don't have to use them. Hope this helps.

they clean the beds for you with a special sanatizer made only for that acrylic...you will need to buy eyewear and people dont normally tan in swimsuiys anymore but you can most men and women go in the nude for an even tan...and the tanning consultant will let you know how long to go in for...some tanning lotions have sunscreen in them but most of the time u dont need a sunscreen cause they try to put u on a timer so u dont burn but the chances are still there....my best advice is stay away from the bronzers cause they will amek you look orange...keep with accelerators which do take a little longer to build up but then when u get the results u want it will look like a natural tan

Okay, for your first time you want to ask the person working how long you should go in for, it depends on how stong the bulbs are and the person there should be a good judge. Eye wear is required and you can buy it right there. Yes they clean the beds in between uses. Most places dont have lotion for you to use but they have samples you can buy for $1-$4 usually. If you want to go nude feel free, no tan lines right? Just tell the person working there it's your first time and they can set a guide for you, telling you how often to go and for how long to build up and maintain a nice tan. Just from personal experience i would put some spf on your face, your cheeks and nose are usually the first to burn!

I never used one, but, most the women I know do it nude to avoid tan lines. The people are supposed to clean the bed, but, you may want a few sterile wipes in case you see something not look right. They should have eye protection and the necessary items, but, you may need your preferred sun screen, I not sure if people use any really.
Well, that about what I know, LOL, not much, sorry.

The tanning salon will sell lotions for the tanning beds, specifically. Make sure that you invest in one for your body and your face. Do not tan without a lotion. They do clean the beds after each person and they provide goggles. I prefer to tan in the nude, also, to avoid tan lines. The stand up beds will give you the ultimate results...no white streaks. They are more intense, though. The attendant should be trained to tell you how long you need to tan...they'll ask you questions that'll determine an adequate time.

yes they clean the beds after every use and yes they provide the eye protection. it is up to u if u want to be nude or not and since this is ur first time u should only go in fo 5 min or less. if u r really pale i would go in for less and work ur way up. as for sun screen they have some there that u can buy and ask them what kind would be better for ur skin.
