I agree, I had a lovely Nurse and Technician, would have sub-dated either if they had only said YES!

Why would you want to be sedated for some thing so simple as this, when there really isn't even a need for that. Read on, I'm sure that it's going to make you feel a lot better about what is going to be done. Very easy, so simple!
I think that I once had my gallbladder scanned and it didn't hurt at all, as a matter of fact I don't even think that they used dye either. It was all pretty simple, that it wasn't even funny. They used an ultra sound machine, that doesn't even hurt at all. It all so easy. They simply put a gel on your skin, it's usually cold feeling, it helps the hand held part of the machine glide easily over the area. Then they have part of this machine that is hand held and they move it around over the area where the gallbladder is, the gel makes it easier for it to glide over the area. The most that you may have to do is hold your breath in now and again, but other than that you just lay there while they do the scan.

I believe you mean "sedated" and there's no reason to be sedated during a scan. You'll have a dye injected and once it circulates to the gallbladder, pictures will be taken. That's it. This isn't major surgery.

because there is no need to be sedated for such a minor procedure. The risks involved in sedating you outweigh the need....
