A 4.0 oz glass of wine contains anywhere from 62-160 calories (against 100 in a light beer, for example), Gin, rum, vodka, whisky and tequila have about 64 cal/ounce. Brandy and cognac have 50 cal/ounce.

A good advice for lowering your alcohol consumption is alternating between alcohol beverages and water, this way you can still toast, but won't have as many calories.

your best bet is a light wine.It has 70 calories per 5 fluid oz.Other good choices are a wine spritzer at 85 calories per 7 oz. Brandy has 95 calories per11/2 oz.. The one I would go with is Vodka or rum. 95 calories per11/2 oz. You need to remember the calories in these drinks come from the alcohol and sugars. The more alcohol and the more sugars in it then the more calories.

Has to be vodka and soda, and maybe add a squeeze of lemon or lime jucie for taste (but not cordial), but its suprisingly nice on its own.
Vodka diet coke.
Diet coke and soda are calorie free. a 25ml shot of vodka has 54 calories, and a 35ml shot has 75calories
White wine spriters are great too. A large white wine and soda water (250ml, half of each) is only 85 calories

Vodka and diet anything, the vodka is pure alcohol and so contains less calories as there isn't anything added to it.

Stay away from whiskey and cream based anything as these are filled with sugar.

Also be careful when adding corials (i.e Vodka lime and soda) as the lime will generally be in syrup form and full of sugar.

Vodka and soda water with lots of ice and fresh lemon to squeeze into it is as low calorie as it gets.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards, Wendy
