Say I have a friend who is a DJ, and I need to reach them in an emergency. If it were another job, I'd just call their office or whatever and reach them directly. Is there a "personal line" at radio stations, other than the request line, to reach the DJ's? On the same subject, would a cell phone work in the recording booths, or is it like a dead zone in there?

Umm...well...if you actually had a friend that was a DJ and anticipated the need to reach him/her in case of an emergency, you'd already know that info. For a friend of mine that did time as a DJ (she's now a morning show producer), I had her office line, cell phone and office email address.

If you hypothetically have a friend who is a DJ then that would be the perfect person to ask :)

Yes they have direct (non listener) lines.
No its not a dead zone for cell phones although most DJs would probably have them turned off if they were doing their job.

Call.

But since you're probably stalking this person, the receptionist may have been told to give you a different answer. Family members and friends usually have the inside phone number.

Call 411 info and ask for the radio station and location. They'll give you the number.
