Hell is separation from God. There is no other hell.
What about hell fire you ask? Does not our bible tell us about hell fire? Is not hell fire something to avoid? Well yes and yes but no. Why no?

Well astronomers tell us if a nova happened on our galaxy perhaps as long as 2010 years ago we would have little warning and perhaps would not experience it at all. Why you ask? Because the first impulse of radiation would kill us instantly, so quickly in fact that our nervous system would not have time to react, therefore no awareness, except of course for the true believer who would then be standing on a sea of glass.

and before the throne, as it were a sea of glass like a crystal; Revelation 4:6 ASV (first part)
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Revelation 15:2 KJV
The description of Revelation aside for a moment, the result of a nova, not to mention the possible super nova, would at least melt our little planet, therefore the sea of glass. The intense heat from the nova would first likely turn our reality into plasma which could as it cooled become pure elemental crystals.

I don't believe in a hell ruled by a prince of darkness where demons prod sinners with pitchforks for all eternity....

the worst moment of my life was when I got sorta beat up by a couple of kids, brothers, and went to my Dad about it, and he immediately went to confront the kids' father. Well, my story began to unravel, and my father's look of humiliation and shame was something I'll never forget.

Years ago a book called "Life After Life" studied people who had been dead and been revived. they told remarkably similar stories, sliding toward a life, floating out of their bodies, seeing relatives in a ajoining room weeping, etc. There were also those who had attempted suicide, or who had died during the commission of a crime, and their stories were similar, too. They spoke of the incredible shame and disappointment of the God they met.

When they came back to their bodies, their lives were remarkably changed----those who'd had a positive experience with the "Light" never feared death again, and those who'd felt the shame and disappointment of God changed their lives for the better, (the Christian word "repent" means to "turn away from", not be "sorry for", sin.)

My vision of hell is feeling the disappointment and shame of God. I fear that more than I fear the firey eternity that is commonly depicted in art and literature.(but seldom in the Bible)

Many people see Hell as a physical place of eternal and physical punishment. More than likely, it's a spiritual state rather than a physical one -- the spiritual state of eternal separation from God.

Hell is mentioned in the New Testament at least two dozen times. And it is permanent -- anyone who goes there, stays there, eternally.

Hell's existence (and permanence) is the one Catholic doctrine that I, a practicing Catholic, wish were not true. But, unfortunately, there it is.

So what do we do about this? Obviously, we live our lives in such a way as to not go there. It's up to us -- God doesn't send anyone to hell, but rather, people who end up in Hell go there by choice.

How do we live our lives so as not to go there? First, we must believe in Christ. Second, we must follow His teachings and the teachings of His Church to the best of our abilities -- and to access the way of forgiveness and reconciliation that His Church has available to us, for those times when we fail.

To me, "hell" is dying in a state where you are completely separated from God, by whatever name you call God. (creator, source, good, etc.) I would imagine that it's a state of utter emptiness. And yes, one could argue the existance of "hell on earth." Is it eternal? No clue really... that would depend on whether or not it is possible for one to have a change of heart after death. If it is possible, I do think that God will always welcome us back... doesn't mean it's an automatic one-way trip to heaven, but it does mean the end of the nothingness.

Hell is truth and eternal. It is as true as our life here on earth. It's fire is 70 times hotter than the fire we have. It has snakes, boiling water is given as food and so on. It is the jail of Almighty for those who disbelieve and dis-obeyed Him. All that worshipped besides God will perish in it. Even if they worshipped messengers as Moses, Jesus or Muhammad will be of no use and shall perish in Hell fire. Those who worshipped only One God. Obeyed Him and followed His Messengers will be saved for eternal Paradise. May God guide all of us to His true path.

" The wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God in hell. They consciously suffer shame and contempt and the assaults of an accusing conscience -- along with the fiery wrath of an offended deity -- for all of eternity."
