I have noticed that a lot of the people asking questions don't pick best answer or give any feedback to the ones that take them seriously. I answer Q's with a lot of thought and meaning, just to see that askers are not resolving or choosing anyone. Am I not playing the game right?

If I get an answer that I actually think is helpful, I will pick it as best. But I'm not going to award someone 10pts just for the sake of picking a best answer when I didn't really get a good response. That's just me.

Sometimes there are more than one best answer and the person who asked it just doesn't want to make the decision themselves, thats why they put it up for vote. I have put a few up for vote, but not that many. I try to pick it out myself and put thought into the answers that are given to me.

I've always wondered that too. I think some of the questions might be goofy. Then they end up in voting and that's a whole new thing. I've seen people vote for terrible answers.

When I ask questions, I always pick a best answer.

Just like they had to ask a question to get answers from the others in the first place, they also need help in choosing best answer.

I guess, some just can't pick out a best. or maybe the like seeing which one is voted for. Maybe they forgot and couldn't get to a computer. Who knows?

I only don't choose when I only recieve bad answers. Even some of the "well thought out ones" aren't that great.

I think in addition to some of the reasons stated here, a lot of times the people asking the questions just want instant gratification, and don't care anymore after they've read the answers, even if they've been helped. It's rude.

I can only speak for myself but when I don't get a factual answer and only get speculation and guesses, I don't pick a best answer because the answers didn't answer my question. They only guessed at the answer. My questions (lately) don't usually require speculation, they can be answered with fact.

Many people aren't really looking for answers, only to stir things up with loaded questions.

I too do not understand the people that ask real questions that don't pick a "best".

Laziness or indecisiveness I guess.
