Paul stated that the end was so near that there was no point in marrying, so it's ridiculous to believe that Paul wasn't informed that the time table was God's "1 day equals a thousand years" nonsense.
If Paul got that wrong, what else did he mess up?

There are actually places in the Bible where it is stated that the end will be within the generation living then:
1) Mark 9:1 - some standing here will not taste death until they see the kingdom come with power.
2) Mark 13:30 - this generation will not pass away until ALL THESE THINGS occur
3) 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 - Paul assumed that he would be alive when these things occurred, as would his readers, hence he wrote to the Thessalonians "we who are alive..."

"Lesson a million the Bible should not be like your common e-e book: It took 3500 years to put in writing, finished 2000 years in the previous only with that during innovations, do you think of the people writting and the persons analyzing the books could have had another existence sort then we do at cutting-edge" particular. precisely. So why are you anticipating society - which has persevered to evolve - to stick to the doctrines of a e book that for an awfully very long term endured to evolve and then comfortably stopped?!? curiously the individuals who on the beginning up wrote the Bible understood the suggestion that society evolves, and we could desire to verify our relationship with God and what God needs from us in accordance, till a definite element, being 2000 years in the past. And it form of feels that, for the final 2000 years God hasn't had although of fee to assert approximately some undertaking, or it could have been extra to the Bible. So essentially, to persist with the Bible and persist with its teachings to your existence is to ignore approximately how society has replaced and stay in denial of the suited 2000 years. thank you for pointing that out. i might already come to that end even however, subsequently why i'm no longer Christian. )O(

perhaps Einsteins talks of times relativity may take a part in this. I only got a B- in that class so I may be wrong too. if you are a evolutionist than you would say a creature that has been around a million years is young, but damn I thought 30 was young

God also said that a thousand years was just a day, and that our lives were just a whisp of vapour and then it's gone, so the "End is near" can very well be from God's perspective, not ours.

It means that to God who has always been that the end is near. It means that with God a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day. It means in heaven there is no time. We should live our lives as if we are going to heaven any day, but plan as if we are going to be here a long time.

The End is Near is to warn everyone that no one knows when the Lord will come, and Jesus uses Near, so that everyone is prepared when he comes.
If he said "The End will be in 2000 years"
well..2000 years later we would be ready and at that point people would start to care about what he said...those people 2000 years before would know that the End wasn't coming...
Even Jesus said that he did not know, Only the Father knew.

You know how god works, his sense of time is not real good, He says 6 days, we say 4.5billion years. So what does near really mean.
