Not hiring illegal aliens is NOT being racist. There are MANY different nationalities of illegal immigrants in the U.S. today. If you are looking for the public definition of racism, then why don't you ask THAT question? Racism in its most unrefutable example is Hitler. Whenever I need to define racism, that's where I start and apply the "question for today" against what Hitler demonstrated, with horrific accuracy. After the Irish potato famine, there was a large influx of Irish people in to the U.S. Shops in New York and other east coast cities had signs posted "N I N A" (no Irish need apply). That, I would also consider racism, and a more public form of it. Apartheid in South Africa is a huge example of racism. 10% white ruling the 90% black population, and many rights, as well as many deaths, were based on skin color. This is a very publicly defined example of racism.

No.

What is it about the word 'illegal' that people have trouble with?

Why would abiding by the law be racist? Why would refusing to break the law by not hiring illegal aliens and so put yourself in jeopardy be racist?

Playing the race card is an excuse to twist people into doing things that are wrong and illegal.

It's illegal to hire illegal immigrants. You will get a MUCH harsher punishment than THEY will. YOU get a record to carry around with you! Then good luck finding another job.

I think at this point Americans have sat back and we did the politically correct thing by saying nothing. Now WE are the minorities and the illegals are drinking up the healthcare and taking over the land. Soon, we will have nothing left...not even our language.

So do us all a favor and hire Americans?

No, it would not only not be racist, but you would be abiding by the law. It is a felony under Section 8 USC 1324 A and 274A of the INA to hire, harbor or help illegal immigrants. So you don't really need any more definition. You just need to obey the law and sue the government when they fail to uphold it.

It's against the law to hire illegals. Illegals come from all kinds of countries. So how is that racist?

No it would not be racist not to hire illegal aliens. But if you're just thinking of a specific race....then yes it is racist.

No, because by hiring ILLEGAL aliens you are putting your business at risk (of fines or worse). However it would be racist to not hire someone simply because they were of a particular race, if they were able to legally work for you.

It would be illegal to hire illegal immigants, so race has nothing to do with it. It is about the law. If you base the hiring or not hiring practice on RACE, then it is racist. If you base it on legal status, then no, it is not racist because you would not hire anyone of any race who was here illegally.
