Prophet Adam and his wife Eve built the first house of worship in the same place that Kaaba occupies now.

The site was supposedly ravaged in The Flood and rebuilt by Prophet Noah and his sons. In time it deteriorated and was rebuilt by Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael.

Subsequently it was turned to idol worship and was reinstated as a proper place of worship by Prophet Muhammad, his family and his followers.
