Sometimes no other word fits as nicely as a dirty birdy. I see no problem with curse words. I try not to use them around people who would be offended, but to me, they are just another word. It goes back to my being anti-censorship, I guess.

Wow. Seems like a lot of people lose their tempers easily! (As if I didn't know this.) I wonder, sincerely, what's the point of it? Does it make you all feel better, or is it just automatic? If I have any kind of catastrophe, I'm probably at my most calm, figuring out to deal with it. Didn't someone say something about people standing in doorways? (I forgot.) I just can't comprehend why things other people do would make you want to curse! If I hit myself with a hammer, I might "yelp," but that's all. I don't like to hear cursing, but it's really none of my business. If I let things upset me, I'd be upset all the time. During Summer, guys down at the lake use the F word--like--every other word. Kinda stupid, but it doesn't ruin my day. Cursing is "usually" anger at someone, & anger perpetuates anger, & before you know it--oops!

I cause myself to curse... I know I learned those naughty words as a young child listening to my family and friends but I'm an adult now and no one can cause me to curse if I didn't want to. Mostly it's a bad habit for me. For the most part I have stopped but I fall back when I am around a lot of people who curse or if I watch too many Sopranos episodes. LOL.

Usually if I do something really stupid.
Yesterday I decided to help out in the lab and I forgot to put 2-mercaptoethanol into a buffer. Fortunately the stuff stinks so one of the techs noticed and asked before we wasted a whole day. I got sent back to my office.
I let loose a few at myself.
Other than that I don't curse much.

Unfortunately, I am known to have a foul mouth sometimes. Sometimes the only word that is best for the situation is a curse word.

Your old sin-nature, the flesh, what else?
Besides saying S***, A** and Damn isn't cursing, it's just
profance slang. True cursing is using the Lord's Name.
Which millions do..

My washer got stuck filling up and flooded the whole bottom part of my house...I came home 4 hours later and cussed like a sailor when I saw the mess I had to clean. I realized how bad it was when I saw two giraffes floating by....

I almost never curse. On the other hand, my husband swears like a sailor and it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't swear simply because I don't like the way it sounds coming from me.

I curse when I'm frustrated.
I've had to tone it down recently because my son is now old enough to pick up on, ahem, colorful metaphors.

My work. We swear all the time. It is a hard job with a lot of problems that we have to deal with. It eases me like smoking... only I don't smoke. I guess it is my alternative to smoking there
