If I met a guy and he was drop dead good looking but...he had no personality....I'd pass him by.I'd like a guy a little less good looking but be able to interest me.Keep up a good conversation.Have things in common with me.Keep me on my toes.Be intriguing.And I think this is a great question so here's a star for you.

Looks are definitely important because you need to be attracted to someone in order for it to transcend from being merely a platonic relationship to a romantic involvement. However, looks will only take you so far because if there isn't a good personality behind it as well, it's like buying a brand new convertible only to pop the hood and see that there is no engine (sorry bad analogy there but deal with it : P). What good is someone who looks physically appealing if they can't even hold a conversation or are just an a*shole, I mean who would really want to be with that? So to answer your question, a balance of both is key for me to be completely attracted to a guy.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Initially we may be attracted to looks but a great looking guy who is a sour puss with no personality is a turn off. So to all the guys with humour and personality have a nice day

Personality is much more important. He could be very handsome, but when he has an awful personality, he becomes unattractive to me. On the other hand, if a guy just average-looking but I find out he has a great personality, he is much more attractive to me. Men that are obese are never attractive to me, though.

I'd say that personality would come first, THEN looks. But the guy has to have some looks because thats what we notice first. But its a complete bummer if you find a super hot guy but is very vain and can't carry a conversation with you than the so-so looking guy thats really nice and can talk to you.

Personality. That doesn't mean you can look awful! Good grooming and dressing certainly help, it pays to make an effort and that's the kind of thing a girl notices. But you don't have to look like a Hollywood A-lister, and if you don't seem like a nice guy personality-wise then good looks alone won't do it for long.

Pretty balanced - I wouldn't go out with a really good looking guy if I didn't like his personality, but even if a guy had a good personality you might not know if you're never attracted to him so you never talk to him.
But overall, personality over looks!!

Looks are what attracts you to someone in the first place (unless you're just friends first), but it's definitely personality that makes/keeps me interested and moves anything forward. Personality all the way!
