Yes, I did and then I married him! Opposites attract.

I would, I don't want to date someone that is exactly like me. I think being different spices things up.
I would date an older man but I wouldn't date one more than two years younger. I think guys younger than me tend to be immature.
A man's looks will only get him so far with me after that he better have a great personality to back it up.
I am past being concerned about someone's popularity.
I would date a man no matter what his chosen profession is. I would not date an unemployed man. (Unless he is a full time student, and working towards a degree he will use. I don't want to get mixed up with a guy that is just going to school for the heck of it with no real ambition.)
I personally have never dated anyone of another race. It just hasn't really come up for me, I can't say I am completely opposed to it, because you should never say never I guess!!

For age, I prefer someone older than me. If he was younger, well, I'd have to consider how compatible we were first. For looks, I'd have to be attracted to him. The rest of the world could consider him ugly but if I was attracted to him, it's only my opinion that counts anyway. For popularity, I don't pay attention to popularity contests so I wouldn't even know if someone was more or less popular than I am. For job, I don't care if he works at McDonalds or is CEO of a Fortune 500 company as long as he can support himself. For race, I only date the same race as me... the human race. For religion, as long as we both can respect each other's beliefs without trying to convert each other, that's all that matters. I like to have some similarities in interests otherwise what would we have to talk about? Each person I've dated over the years has been different. Diversity is a beautiful thing!

In the aspects that you listed, yes. Those things are what makes other people fun and interesting. I would not date (again) someone who is different than me in goals for their life, beliefs on black/white issues, right/wrong, etc. Causes way too many problems on what each of you think is important.

I have dated women of different races (I'm Black), different social backgrounds (I'm a military brat; I've dated women from suburban backgrounds, small towns and one who came from money), different looks (two girlfriends who were "6s;" people assure me that I'm an "8"), and my wife is seven years younger than I am. In each case the attraction was based on personality. Sexual chemistry never hurts, but I've only had one relationship that was based entirely on that and man, did I ever regret it.

If you connect with them, they respect you and you respect them, and you have fun together go for it. Don't worry about what other people think, cuz that's usually why people are scared to date someone that's "not their type."

yes, if you are interested in that person then that should be all there is to it. you can't let society judge you, be yourself.
