As a Dad I can say you have No Need to Impress your Dad; none at all. Be yourself, be responsible and do well in school, when the time comes get a part time job and pay for much of your own stuff; this is not about $ it is about your being a responsible young adult.
No parent can ask for more.

Just act interested, he probably doesn't get to many compliments being that his job is dirty. Tell him how much harder it is than people think, and how interested you are in learning. You don't have to lie to impress him. I'm sure he'll be proud just you being there. Try and help as much as possible and get helping. If you make it fun and seem excited it will be a great day for both of you. Enjoy the time and let him know you appreciate what he does. I had the same thing with me dad. Google some facts to show him you researched

I guess it depends.
If you're on welfare you could go get a job.
If you are a high school dropout, get a GED and enroll in college.
If you are a spoiled brat, do something nice for someone else.
If you never shower.....
Okay, that's all I can think of. If you are none of the above and just a normal person, then your dad is probably already impressed.

If u wanna impress ur dad then do something different. you should do some kind of social work which will make ur dad proud of u.

Make him something
Cook his favorite meal
Clean or organize the house
Mow the lawn

Could you perhaps explain why you feel you need to impress him? Does he not pay any attention to you or something? Do you feel ignored or do you not feel like you measure up? Do you feel like you are in competition for his attention?

I IMPRESS MY DAD BY WASHING DISHES, THE KITCHEN AND MAKING SOMETHING TO EAT~ DADS WILL LOVE THERR CHILDREN BUT SOMTIMES THEY FEEL USED~ LET HIM KNOW HE IS YOUR #1 DADDY!!!!!!!!! TAKE HIM SOME WHERE TO GET A DRINK AND FOOD- AND TRY A JOKE - LAUGHTER IS THE BEST
