good job on the donating the hair! but of course you would be anxious to part with your hair, after having it just there for so long. but think of this, some little kid will be smiling because you sacrificed for him/her. s/he can't grow hair any more, but you still can.

Well my daughters & I have both done this and I'll tell them what I told you. They knew it was a "good thing" too, but here's the best positive. It's hair, it will grow back. This is not a long-term problem. Patience & love will get you through this. It'll be fine! Change can be a good thing. 10 inches is all they need. Keep the other 2 inches and you'll have a beautiful compromise with yourself.

Kudos to you! =]
It does sound like a scary thing, but that IS what you were growing your hair out for right? You are doing a really really good thing, and you should be proud of that. You can grow your hair out like this, but other kids can't. They wish they had hair like yours, and now they can because of you!
So face your fear! After you get it done, it will take some getting used to your new cut, but you will feel just absolutely great inside.
Good for you! =]
[ You should also feel great because there are many people who would never do this. But you are one of the few who would. You are going to make some kids very happy, and this might be hard to believe, but, you will probably change their life, and boost their self-esteem.]

Its only hair. I know that right after you cut it, you want to glue it back on, but then later you realize how much easier it is to fix it. I should know, I once had 14 inches cut off and then a few years later, 20 inches!
And, when you get in the car from now on, your hair won't get caught in the door or the seat belt. Last year, I was in a buffet line and the woman behind me got stuck in my hair, how embarrassing!
In March, I got my hair cut and got bangs and everyone at work constantly complemented me and I am toying with the idea of getting more cut, right now, my hair is about 2 feet long scalp to tip.

Don't become so attached to your hair- you'll be able to grow it back, but your donation will go to a child that cannot grow their own hair. You'll be changing another persons' life. Just look for a great short haircut that you'll like. Its only hair, and hair shouldn't define you. Just think "selfless" and let go of the ego attached to your hair- you'll enjoy wearing your hair short, which will give you a chance to experiment with your new hair- you can even color it after its short. You can get a makeover and re-invent yourself.

Woah, not only are you doing a great thing for them, but for yourself. Hair shoud not get too long. It gets damaged and boring when too much gravity pulls down on it. This can be a great uplifting hair cut for you. Enjoy it! And since spring is here, a short hairstyle would be so cute and light, look great with spring dresses, hats, and sunglasses, and is ultra trendy right now. Do jagged edges for a modern twist on the pixie cut. It is so cool. And now on top of THAT..... you are doing something good. Enjoy!

You AWESOME, WONDERFUL person you! Two young people I know have done this in the past 12 months (one a young man!) and both loved it - not only the TRUE JOY of sacrifice for someone less fortunate than themselves, but the fresh new look aspect. I'm sure you'll be even more beautiful with your new look because it will include GROWTH in the meaning of LOVE! God Bless You!
