Bush has been doing his job all along. No matter the concerns of the 'bleeding hearts' or his opposition, he has maintained his course. You will NEVER get away from criticism...and no president is immune from that. But he hasn't seemed to let any criticism, counsel, recommendations or advice get in the way of his agenda. As for living without fear....I'm sorry to have to add that I don't think that is possible. The US has been involved in far too many incidents in the middle east over the past 20+ years...and we are now seeing the result and aftermath of that intervention...

I loved reading the responses to this question. So many people are talking about the wrong thing. The problem isn't with supporting or not supporting Bush, the problem is bigger than that.
In the Golden years of the United States party loyalty was unknown to statesman. Their loyalty was not to the wig party or to anything else other than to the United States. Even 50 years ago Republicans and Democrats would still "hang out" after conventions, talk about policy, and attend dinner parties together.
Today loyalty is to the Party and then to the United States. Republicans are right Democrats are left and the majority of Americans are stuck in the middle. They get screwed because its either too far right or too far left. Even if Bush were sainted by the Catholic Church Democrats would still bash him, cause he's a Republican. Course if Kerry had won, he would have probably invaded Iraq too and the Republicans would be saying that he is Satan from hell to destroy America.
So the answer is that bleeding hearts will attack Bush because he's a Republican, and he'll bash them cause their Democrats. This is a little oversimplified but nonetheless true.

Let bush do his job. That's what we have been doing for the last 6 1/2 years and it has gotten us know where.
1.Terrorist acts are up 70% because our foreign policy benefits the rich, Poor people in all nations suffer therefore creating a climate for new terrorist to be born.
2. Lies about the War in Iraq what caused the War. Even after we were notified by Bush about his mistake we are still in a country that doesn't want us there.
He needs to do a better job of putting sanctions on Companies that do business in Dufar, Rwanda and Israel ( made up by the US in 1935) when they continue to kill innocent people.
Place sanctions on Companies that fuel Global Warming and stop making excuses for the rich.
Come up with plan to get the Troops out of Iraq.
Create a Healthplan so children like the one in Maryland wont die from a Toothache.

Bush lied about the reasons for going to war; in reality HE went to war for his daddy and oil. Bush is no more intelligent than my 14 year old son, and I don't think he should be running the country either. The people who voted for him the second time, because "you can't change presidents in the middle of a war," were fools to think that way. America ask yourself, where is Bin Laden? Oh yeah, I forgot his family has ties with the Bush family, that is why he is allowed to keep planning America's destruction. Bush is not capable of doing this job any more then any other job he ever tried. Look at his track record. I can not believe how many good, hard working American's are still backing this buffoon. He thinks he is a King not a servant of the people. I for one do not want to pay this man after he leaves office, I say; IMPEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets see, Bush NOT doing his job.
well all I have to say is TIME will tell, meaning when another President takes over in 08 will things get better or worse?
The crisis in the middle east just didnt appear overnight { on the Bush watch}! NOPE it has been accumulating for YEARS.
Ask yourself this, who has been in power in the House and Senate AND President the most in the last say 50 years? THEY have had a very BIG hand in what is going on in the middle east currently.
OUR Government tendancy to meddle in others affairs IS the problem. { NO exceptions}
I for one am very disallusioned with our Government { actualy MOST of what goes on in Government make me SICK.}
Not just the Bush admin either but going back .... way back.
I seriously doubt that the next President will do much IF any better either. The House and senate, well we have already had a good sampling of what there going to be like with thier ILL fated Immigration proposal and pandering, moaning and groaning instead of enacting MEANINGFUL legislation.
They ALL want to fill thier own cookie jar while ours remains with only crumbs.

Because they Hate America ! And they can't stand the fact Republicans do a much better job of running the country. They always talk about low Approval ratings with Bush. If this is so important how do they explain the whopping 29% approval ratings for the Democrat controlled Senate ! After all lets spend billions of dollars on a Global Warming theory we don't have to worry about the real threat to America That being protecting America from Terrorist

Is it "his job" to destroy the earth - because if so, he's doing a great job, despite the fact that only 28% of Americans agree with him! I don't get your admonition of "bleeding hearts" - aren't all republicans and radical right-wingers supposed to be the chosen of God as referenced in the Bible? The Christian Soldiers who believe in Jesus Christ, the one who taught love, forgiveness, and turning the other cheek!?! Do you actually think that Bush can kill every non-Christian on earth? Do you honestly think that this is a good idea, one that will make it possible for you to sleep well at night and bring comfort to your loved ones? You really need to seek psychiatric help, because what you express here isn't an opinion, it's madness.

We did that after 9-11 and look what happened! He completely side-stepped the efforts to find Osama bin Laden and instead started a war with a completely different country despite the evidence he already had that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction!
Here it is 2007 and we still are no closer to capturing bin Laden. And now Iraq is in a state of incredible instability because insufficient planning was done before storming the country!
And look at how nicely he handled Katrina! He ignored New Orleans while more than a thousand people died IN OUR OWN COUNTRY, while thousands of people sat with no food or water for weeks. And New Orleans is STILL suffering.
Bush has demonstrated how much he cares for the US by his response to Katrina and his brilliance at international affairs by his behavior in Iraq. We let him run the country in the ground after Iraq in the name of supporting this country in a time of war.
Now it's time to clean up the mess he made- the mess we allowed to happen by not being "on his back" while he made all those tragic errors of neglect and malintent.

What is wrong with helping people and being a good steward of our planet? That is a convenant of the Bible.
You are in the small minority of people that like our president. He has a 28% approval rating.
His unjustifed war against Iraq has served as a recruting tool and training ground for Al Qaida. Before the war Iraq did not have an Al Qaida presence. The nutcase Hussain didn't like radical Islamists.
He panders too much to the right-wing religious types that think the Bible should be our law. Goodness, to me that sounds like the Arab countries that practice the laws of the Koran known as Sharia. Ahh, the good old days of the Bible, let's stone somebody because they ate meat on Friday!

The blood is real dear . Ask the parents of all the soldiers who shed it in Iraq because Bush doesn't have the sense to pull our troops out of there . We , by all INTELLIGENT accounts are less safe now than in 2001.
Or maybe it's because Bush caters to special interest groups instead of the people who hired him. Why don't we have a fossil fuel policy like in Europe? Because , that would interfere with our middle east oil policy and all of Bush's Arabian oil baron friends who financed him in the last election.
We are the biggest polluter / capita and biggest consumer of fossil fuel ..HANDS DOWN , we are a serious global threat . I hope Europe places economic sanctions on us SOON for our global crimes , commited by Bush in our name.
Maybe then we will see some real change around here.
