If the main person they are with doesn't work out then they have a back up should I stay with him do you think he has someone on the side.....please help...

Let's pretend you were the one who felt this way. Why would you feel the need to keep someone on the side if you're with someone? Be honest with yourself. Imagine what that mentality does to the relationship. It will not grow into what it can potentially become. You're always thinking this probably won't work out so I'm keeping a back up plan. That's a lot of negative energy and it sounds like you're with a guy that's no where near ready to commit to a relationship. That's OK, just don't expect long term, marriage planning relations with this guy. When he says EVERYONE needs someone on the side, he means EVERYONE including himself. He may even think now that you have someone on the side, which also blocks growth in the relationship. Don't be naive is the best advice I can give.

Ok your bf is stupid for telling you that in the first place and no you don't need somebody on the side that is the most dumbest thing in the world. If i was you i would have drop him just for saying that. That is so crazy i have never heard of that before. I know what he wants he wants the best of both worlds. Most guys do that. If his girl don't do one thing he finds some other girl that will do it. Girl i woudn't take a chance drop him.

The guy is a jerk, If he really loved you then he would just stay with you no matter what the problem is. Love is a strong feeling and if he really digged it then he wouldnt do that to you. Just leave him its not worth it if hes doing that stuff. Theres another guy out there that will make you happy. Dont be stupid and stay with the bad. Go on to the good.

He's either got someone on the side or he's looking for someone on the side. The RIGHT person will need you, and you alone. Your bf is full of s***. Dump him before he breaks your heart. Go find someone who is your everything and you are his everything.

He sounds insecure enough to have a "backup". Look for a secure enough guy that works for a relationship with you with out looking for your replacement in advance.
Security is something each person needs to learn on its own, support might help, but at the end your bf needs to try hard.
Is he worth the risk?

Okay, keeping someone on the side (I tried this once) only creates much more tension and destines the couple to fail. I would confront your boyfriend about this matter in a diplomatic and cool way. Anyway, he sounds like a jerk, and I would not be with him. That's your choice though.

He tells you that because that's what he wants.He wants a commitment from you without making one himself. Tell him what's good for the goose is good for the gander. You want someone on the side in case he doesn't work out. See if he sticks around then.
You don;t need him if you are looking for 'Mr. Right'

am sorry to say: but he is not ready for a committment with you or anyone for that matter,he don't see a future with you in it either,
he wouldn't be out finding someone on the side if he loved you
its weak of him,but its who he is.
