My sister and I are looking for a present for our brother's girfriend's high school grad. We are pretty close to her and don't want to give something like a gift certificate (too little thought) or jewlery (because her parents are giving her jewlery and so is our brother). Thanks for your help!

Our family 'standard' HS graduation gift is a photo album. Get a nice book and a disposable camera. If you like, insert a photo of her with friends or classmates or your brother to 'get it started'.

For college graduates, we 'always' give a portfolio -- a leather book/folder designed to hold a pad of paper. This recognizes that their next step is off to interview, with a neat and professional attitude.

How about a cute outfit? I know most girls love clothes. You could buy her something you know she will like, as you are close to her and know her style. Plus your brother can find out what size clothes she takes very easily without her knowing!
I personally would love that. You can buy something to suit your budget. I would either go for a nice dress with a cute cardigan or shrug to put over her shoulders or a really nice top and a pair of jeans or trousers. (I can never have too many jeans!) You could also get some shoes and a handbag to complete the outfit.
Plus you can have LOADS of fun shopping for clothes and keep the receipt, so she could easily exchange them for something else if she doesn't like them.

If your budget is a little tight, and you can't afford a whole outfit, than just a pretty top or great handbag would be good.

Alternatively, you could get one of those pretty gift boxes and fill it with some treats. Like face masks and make-up, body lotions, hair stuff, etc. And wrap each item individually in some pretty tissue paper. This way it's like she gets loads of surprises, and i'm sure she would love it.
But these certainly won't be good if she's a tomboy or not into typical girly things. If that's the case, then maybe take someone else's advice!

Well, good luck!

If you want to make it personal, get her something mongrammed. I always thought that monogrammed items were really cool. You could go in together and find something reasonble too. Just search on the web for monogrammed items, and this can give you an idea, even if you don't order it online. Or, you could get her a useful book about college survival skills if she is going to college or something similar to this if she is not going to college. Dr. Seus has a book called "Oh, the Places You Will Go." It is a good book for new grads. Stationary is a useful item as well.

Is she going off to college? If so, you can get her a t-shirt or sweatshirt from that college. Check the college or university website.

You can also get her something from Things Remembered or any other store with engraved items. A nice pen and pencil set is good for a college bound grad or someone heading to the workforce. There are also nice jewelry boxes you can have engraved.

I received a nice watch from my parents for graduation. I still have it (I graduated a looong time ago).

it relatively is a toughie. i might say if she does not opt to bypass, possibility is she won't. Being a female myself, i comprehend if we are saying we don't opt to bypass, we commonly do no longer opt to. you probably did the perfect component by ability of suggesting she elect the activities you 2 might do, by ability of having you intend the holiday this is self, possibly she felt like it became YOUR holiday and he or she wasn't particular she'd have any relaxing. in the adventure that your heart is easily set in this holiday particularly, it won't be able to harm to attempt to communicate to her approximately it some greater. determine you ask for her enter and feedback on each and all of the suggestions. This became meant to be a visit for the the two one in each and every of you, possibly instead of vacationing your loved ones, you 2 do something independent. deliver that up and notice if she likes the assumption. If she's nevertheless set on no longer likely in this holiday, possibly this is something greater severe than her being unintersested or bored.

Well maybe, you could make up a Graduation gift basket for her, with little things that she likes. For example, perfume, candles, lip gloss, stuffed animal, chocolates, etc. Just be creative. Anyone likes a gift from the heart. Good Luck:)

You could buy her perfume, take her out to her favorite restaurant. It really depends on how much you are going to spend on her. If you are going over $100, then electronics are good
