I like how you put that, a driving force...a spiritual understanding that we possess.
That's what it feels like.

If you try to look for God anywhere on earth, in the sky or any other place locked in space and time you will not find God - at least not if you think God is a physical being.
At the same time God is not "just a driving force" or a "spiritual understanding that we possess, which guides us to various paths." You are thinking of the force from Star wars.
So what is God?
God is. He always was and He always will be.
God is beyond all matter - He created all matter; He created us.
He is not all things - that is pantheism, but you could say He is present in all things - panentheism - since every creation of God's bears the mark of the creator; that is why most people seek God out in their lives - although some choose not to.
So, in conclusion, you were doing well in so far as you said God exists..., but you cannot say He exists in something... for nothing can contain God, He is beyond all. And you were correct to say God is.... but you cannot finish that sentence with a qualifier, because God cannot be confined to any humanly limited description.
Peace be with you!

God is not a separate entity or a eing like the humans residing in a secret hole watchig the activites of the humans .In the bhagavad Gita lord Krisna shows the totality of god toArjuna at his request , as the cosmos itself - viswa roopa .the whole cosmos and the uierse and all matters in to are the part os god .they all are in the god .they ar elike th epixels that make up the whole picure .Sogod is in you and you ar ein God .this is the onipresence of God .This is whythe Hindus see god in everything that HE created and evrythig that forms part of him.
God gies you the life .the soul in egvery body is God .\but he does not guide yu in your day to day life .God has given you the senses toguide you in everything .It is yur senses that guide yu inyour day to day life ,God does nt take part in yur activities .This is the reason for people committing sins despit the fact that the soul of god . God is like the engine of a car . it is the life of the car that runs it .but the movement of the car is decided by the driger with the aid of the gears , the accelerator , the steering wheel, the view finders , the brake etc . It is with these adjuncts the car ois drigen saely or involved in an accident .the engine is not responsible for the sae riding or sccident of the car .The senses guide you like the adjucnts of the car.If you control the sense , you do weel and if the senses control you you becoe wicked .
Your parents might educa eyu and secure a job . You mus do the jpob and yur paretns cannot do it .If yourequire yur parents to do the jiob , why should you exist at all?
God's funcion is like that .that is the reason why [people commit sins despite god being their soul. That is why people kill while god is their soul.
You are guided by your senses and not by god .

i have often wondered why the `existence' of god is always linked to some `high' : `mountains, clouds and sky' in your case.
If so, then what about the bottoms of oceanic depths, or oliwells, over which mankind is engaged in wars ? come to think of it, what about the very surface of earth, which holds us and falls far below mountainst clouds and the sky ?

Lovely, the BIBLE IS a good source for your naswer. You will see how HE interacts with us and why HE sent HIS only son, to save us. The presence of GOD takes a spiritual understanding to really see HIM. You can but you must be willing to study and apply yourself, then you can see HIM in nature, in your friends and you can experience HIM in your own life. so give it a try. You will be glad you did. start at the gospel of John.

god only exists in stories which our ancestors wrote and made us believe under the name of our religion. If he really exists why doesn't he show up?
