I don't know why you would want to replace it, BUT if you must.. . .
Ginger ale, sprite, 7-Up or sparkling white grape juice or just seltzer water, Pierre.
Anything light to clear that is carbonated.

If you mean something other then true French Champagne, and you are looking for value, try Sparkling wine from Spain like Cristalino or Freixenet, or various Prosecco from Italy. Avoid low end ,sub ten dollar American wines like Andre', J. Roget, Totts, and Cooks. They are bulk processed wines that are made with very cheap fruit. Domaine Ste. Michelle is a good American wine for the price. If you want to go no alcohol try various Sparkling grape juices, they will however be sweet in comparison.

A true Champaigne typically has a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in it. The best replacement is a sparkling wine made from one or both of these grapes.

alcholic or non alcoholic?

you can use any mixer to replace it for non-alcoholic. try a sparking white grape juice or ginger ale to kick it up some.

champagne is named for the champagne region in france. i like other sparkling wines better. in spain they are called cavas and you dont make bitter faces after sipping it.

italy has astis and spumantes and proseccos that are lighter and a bit sweeter.

if you're trying to make it a virgin drink why don't you try something like 7-up, ginger ale, sprite...something along those lines.

i can't really think of anything good though if you still want it alcoholic.
