I have read this somewhere. And Lebanese used to have many Christians.

Does Lebanese still have many Christians?

Under a system dating to the end of French colonial rule in 1943, the country's top leadership posts are set aside for certain religious groups: the president must be a Maronite Christian, the prime minister must be a Sunni Muslim, and the speaker of the parliament must be a Shiite Muslim. These provisions are especially problematic now, experts say. "You've got this wounded president, he can scuttle a few things, but he can't really act," Landis says. "And that's a problem, because he's the commander-in-chief."

The links are to the Lebanese Constitution. Christians still form a substantial part of the citizenry.

The Christian and Muslim population of Lebanon is equal (50/50) but because Lebanese people have considered as Arab descent so many people think Lebanon is a Muslim country but it is not right exactly!

Muslims, Christians and Jews understand the great danger the international community is in today. The dangers of Hezbollah, Terrorists, extends beyond Israel's borders to the 'doorstep' of every democratic, freedom-loving nation. Jews, Christians and Muslims have been accustomed to being libeled, hated, and used as scapegoats for the world's ills. However, the difference today is that Jews,Christians and Muslims have linked together, both by a need to defeat terrorism and our commitment to a common set of moral and spiritual values. Israel's enemies are the same terrorists who want to kill all Muslims, Chrisitans and Jews.
Given the global dangers we face today as Muslims, Jews and Christians together, we begin to see the ongoing opportunities to forge even closer bonds.

Lebanon is still a country with a large Xtian population.

About 40% of Lebanese are Xtian, however it is hard to judge because Lebanon is afraid of taking a census. The last one was in the 1930s.
