When the kittens are close to 2 months old, is when you'll want to have momma spayed. If you wait any longer she could end up pregnant again. And this will cost alot of money.( What I mean by this, and it had happened to us, our cat was still nursing her kittens at 4 months of age, and became pregnant again, though we had an appointment to the vets, to have her spayed, the vets end up aborting the kittens, and this cost us way over 300.00 for the spay job, ect.)

For females, this is four to six months of age; and for males, it is seven to nine months. Cats can go into heat and begin reproducing as early as four months, and can have a second heat and pregnancy while still nursing the first litter. DON'T WAIT! As soon as possible. The kittens should be taught to eat, weened, as soon as possible. The mother can go into heat again very quickly. Good luck. Have a good day.

Call the vets office, let them know that she gave birth three weeks ago, and they will schedule her spaying accordingly.
