There is no evidence proving how old Mary was when she gave birth to Jesus. We do know from the rabbinic sayings that were later recorded in the Talmud that betrothal was done right after puberty; however, the couple was not permitted to live together until after the final ceremony, which typically took place when the bride was about 16. The nativity stories confirm that Mary went with Joseph to Bethlehem due to the census; therefore, the two were living together and had finalized their marriage. For this reason, many believe Mary was either 16 or 17 when she gave birth to Jesus.

Well, if she was 13 when Jesus was born (and I don't think we know that for certain), then she was 12 or 13 when she was betrothed. She conceived soon after she was betrothed to Joseph.

The age that Mary was when she conceived is set at between 14 and 16. It has not changed.

You are trying to compare this with Ashia (Muhammad's favorite and 9th wife) who was betrothed to him at age 6 and consummated at age 9.

Good try, no dice.

Peace!

Nowhere in the bible does it state what age Mary was when she gave birth to Jesus.

Mary was divinely implanted by God Himself with the seed of Jesus. If you'd been in church you would have heard "immaculate conception." You can read this in Matthew 1:18-25. And you should read it so you can see for yourself.

It wasn't uncommon back then for women to marry young. And if you think about it-they were way more mature back then. Children grew up fast back in the day.

My grandma married at 14.

Mary was a young maiden, therefore most believe she was a teenager.

Yes, people didn't live as long then as they do know so they married much earlier.
