Any gas powered car can be fitted to run on E85 or gas, it only costs a little more than $100, maybe more depending on where you go. Although I wouldn't waste my time, with E85 you will get less miles per gallon, and it's not as good for the environment as you think. It takes lots of energy to make E85, so I wouldn't bother.

I do not know if it would affect performance.. but I would be more concerned about maintenance issues. Alcohol is corrosive to plastics, rubber and non-metallic parts -- think gaskets in your fuel system. I believe that 1998 cars are rated for fuel with up to 10% alcohol but probably not the 85% alcohol that E-85 is..

Check with your ford dealer or maybe even Ford's website to be sure..

Read the owners manual. You did keep the manual, right? So you know the right grade of oil to use and the minimum octane gas to use and the correct tire pressure and so on, right? Well the manual will tell you if you can use fuel with ethanol in it. But I suspect that it can't. Especially 85% ethanol. You need an engine especially designed for that.

I wouldn't suggest it. If you want to try it, use a fuel additive that boosts the octane rating. Figure out the difference between using an additive with the cheaper fuel and what the regular fuel costs and you probably won't be saving enough to make it worthwhile.

No. Corn likker's for drinkin'. It will speed the corrosion/decay of your fuel system's rubber parts, causing leaks and subsequent fire hazards! All alcohol, MTBE, etc. additives, save for good old tetraethyl lead, should be banned from our fuel supplies!

i needs better honey .. if you run it on that fuel it'll knock on you, thats lawn mover gas.. my car has to use high test and if i use anything else it'll be bad for the engine. hmm let me look.. nope i can't find anything on a quick look but its not good to use cheap gas on a car like that.. you should get 17 city/24 highway.

If your vehicle isn't a flex fuel vehicle, which your Crown Victoria isn't, you can't run on E-85 period.

you'll have to make some alterations of seals, gaskets, and other plastic parts that come in contact with the fuel.
be easier and cost just about as much to get another car.
