More recently? It was a clear and sunny day on September 11th. Have you forgotten?

Terrorists.
The War on Terror is a crock of sh**.
Terrorism is an ideal. It cannot be defeated with M16s, Abrams Tanks or Cruise missles.
For every "terrorist" or "insurgent" the US Military kills...they only create another 3. It's almost like playing "Wack A Mole".
If the US really wanted to defeat terrorism, Bush would stand up and have some sort of dialogue with Syria, Iran, and even Al-Qaeda to find out what their gripes are and how they could be addressed logically and realistically of course.
And again....Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or with Al-Qaeda.
There was no "terrorism" or "suicide-bombers" in Iraq before the Bush sent in the US Military.
The War is over and was declared Accomplished back in 2003.
End the Occupation and bring the Troops home already! The Military did their Job which was to oust Saddam....it shouldn't be their job to Police a Country that's caught in a Civil War.
There were more Soldiers killed after the War was over, than there were during the war.
FYI: The Fort Dix "Terrorist" cell...where a bunch of numbnuts who had been in this country for a very long time. They did not "follow us home" like the GOP talking points would suggest. They group was very disorganized and was in early early stages.

Which terrorists? There has been an on-going search for terrorists for many years. Some have claimed that the United States has sponsored terrorists via their private armies and black ops programs and our using mercenaries for the drug wars. Also, since the FBI and the CIA and the NSA are involved in drug wars and covert ops, the USA has been accused of sponsoring terrorism. However, if you are talking about the recent Ft. Dix six, as I understand it, there is a group of terrorist cells operating in the USA and these people took some photography or videotapes into a store or to a person to have the tapes copied for use as training materials or for sale. The store owner turned them in and the government watched the terrorists for a period of time. The government finally acted when the Pizza Delivery man showed that he knew Ft. Dix like the "back of his hand" and could help the terrorists accomplish their goal. Those terrorists wanted to kill as many U.S. Soldiers as they could. That's what the news (CNN, Fox News, Newspapers, ABC, CBS, NBC stated). If you're wondering about the USA -- what started the war on terror? GWBush declared war after 9/11/01. We claim that many illegal immigrants are terrorists and that is why they are having cities declared Sanctuary cities, to facilitate their hiding and their subversive activities without scrutiny of the law. At least one of the Ft. Dix six lived in a sanctuary city. Salvadorian gangs -- MS 13 and other Hispanic and Latino and Asian Gangs and terrorists are enjoying the sanctuary of the Sanctuary Cities because their identities are protected and they can move freely. The illegal immigrants don't want to hear that because they don't believe they are doing anything wrong. However, they are aiding and abetting crime, in addition to committing crimes themselves by not complying with the law and by harboring the criminals in these sanctuary cities.

I think he was referring to the most recent attempts to track down Al Qaeda operatives..... If so, it started in earnest when Bush took decisive action after 9/11 and invaded Afghanistan to remove the Taliban and destroy the Terror training camps that Al Qaeda had there with the blessings of the Taliban. Unlike Clinton, who did nothing except lob a cruise missile or 2 into a milk factory after attacks on the USS Cole, 2 Embassies in Africa, Somalia, The first World Trade Center attack, ect.......
