I had a dream that I was on a cross country trip on a train. I want to go at least overnight if not two or more. I was on the amtrak website and it was really confusing. Where can I go and where do I book the tickets? I live in southern cali.

When you say "cross country," you mean from California to the East Coast, right?

As far as I know, there isn't one single train that will take you from southern California all the way to the East Coast.

You can do that with two trains though:

- Southwest Chief from LA to Chicago:

then:

- Lakeshore Limited from Chicago to NYC or Boston:

That's a nice trip.. Takes about a week though.

Reservations for seats on those two trains can be made at the Amtrak website.

Hope this helps!

Contact your nearest travel agent. They will plan your trip and you'll probably get the best rates through them.

Have a safe trip.
