Or is this just another urban myth propagated by Generation X?

You may get some stimulation from the caffeine in the Coca-Cola, and that's about it. While caffeine potentiates the effect of aspirin (making the aspirin work better), it's not going to produce any euphoric effects.

Too much of the two in combination might cause bleeding in the stomach.

Cola and acetaminophen/paracetamol would be the same: caffeine in the cola, but no euphoria. Taking an overdose of the medication might cause liver damage.

I don't know how much Gen X had to do with it but it is a myth. As an avid Coke drinker and an aspirin taker I have never gotten high from this combo. Try looking for this at http://www.snopes.com
