A magic trick is never quite the same once you know how it has been done. Once this information has been revealed to you, though, you can view the performance in a different way. Now, instead of being amazed, you can be amused. You can appreciate sleight of hand; the skill involved in perpetrating the deception. Innocence lost, can never be regained but it can be replaced by the kind of maturity that can only ever come from experience. What do you think?

No need to waste your brain power wondering about me LIlGreySpider, wonder about your own religious beliefs and what lies behind your having them.

I agree. I've tried to explain this to religious people before, and of course, they don't get it, and consider it an insult, as I'm "talking down to them" and I'm "arrogant".

They don't understand that I'm only being honest when I say it's not possible for someone to "believe" in something once they've seen why it's false. And I have yet to ever meet a "believer" who knew the facts that I know.

It is that simple. You either know the facts, and lose your "faith", or you keep your faith, and run away from the facts whenever they rear their head.

Ah yes, what you say is so true. I too have seen Christianity for what it truly is, false. After I had these revelations I felt lost at first and tried to go back but you cannot. I cannot follow something which I believe is a lie no matter how hard I try and at this point I don't want to go back. I am enlightened. I no longer an intellectually impeded by religion and I can be open to all things.

You are correct. I like to say that one day I simply woke up and could no longer believe the lie.

There is no going back. Once you know the truth and understand the process through which the Bible cam to be, you can never delude yourself into thinking God is real.

People that say, "I used to be an atheist, but now I'm a Christian" are lying. Like you said, once you know the trick, you can't be fooled again. EVER.

People who claim to be converted from atheism were never atheists. They were simply non-religious or irreligious. It's like saying "I've never really cared for stage magic, but I just saw David Copperfield and now I'm hooked."

I think that there is no need to be bitter about it. Yes, people have twisted Jesus' message for their own gain...but Jesus is still a prophet of the Divine. Trouble is, who knows what He had to say at this point? But hey, let's move on and be happy.

Ohhhh, you're so wise... can't fool you. The act of deceiving means the intent of the Bible is to trick you. You don't have to believe what it says, you have that choice, but thinking it's deceiving you conveys a fear for it's content. You seem a bit paranoid to me. Don't kid yourself into thinking you are some kind of mental heavyweight, in the end you are just another guy with an opinion. I disagree and don't consider myself an easily deceived person, but then I actually studied, researched, and read the Bible. So what would I know?

Deception comes only from Satan, the father of lies.
The credibility of the Bible has been attacked forever, the reason being, Satan knows the power of it.

The opposite is also possible. Once you realise how you were mislead believing that the Bible is not the word of God, once you have experienced the miracle of really, truly understanding what it's all about, you can never turn back.

You've seen how the flim-flam man does his 'magic'.
So you move on.
I've met plenty of people who left the church, and they're no worse for having done so.

I read the Bible cover to cover in many translations, and yes I finally figured it out.

And no, you cannot go back.

The only option is education and history now. No more time for genocidal fairy tales.
