Jesus was not, and is not a dear friends with those which hated the triune God. To the Scribes and Pharisees which did not believe in Him, he called the children of the Devil (John 8:41).

Christians are told that there is not to be close fellowship;

2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

Jesus as a prophet went to needy sinners, like a doctor which would attend onto sick people. Money and position did not mean anything to Him (it only made them more, accountable). People that had faith, He spent time with, and those that did not have faith, He passed by.

Jesus told a story in Luke 15:11ff, where a son wasted his livelihood on riotous living. This son was humbled and came back to his father on bended knee. The meaning of course, is that this is the day of salvation - this is the day where an people (including Atheists) can still humble themselves and ask God for forgiveness.

"there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." (Luke 15:10)

Sure, but I don't think they would have stayed Atheists very long.

Remember that soldier from the Pharasees who got his ear sliced off and Jesus healed it. That's all it took to make him a believer or at least no longer a follower of the wrong way.

The asker asked about atheists.
You responded regarding pagans.
pagans are not atheists.

Gee. I'm real impressed with your knowledge.
I thought I was a true atheist. Thanks for setting me straight on that. One question though: What do I call myself now?
Also, I had no idea that I manifested god simply by mentioning him by name. I'll have to fix that somehow.
Perhaps you can help me out here. There's this thing, this entity or something that you people worship for which I find no evidence of existance. You have a name for this entity and try to convince me he exists. I eschew your arguments and I want to dispute them. In order for the two of us to engage each other, how should I refer to this entity so that you know what I'm arguing about? Up until now, I've always simply used the name you guys use, not knowing that I was undermining my own arguments simply by doing so.
Please forgive my utter stupidity in this matter, but what should I call "it"?

The atheists (godless) people of his time were the religious people, and they didn't like him. The world has been literally turned upside down today because there is an enemy of men's souls and this world is a battle field where the war over souls is fought, and the war is almost over, which is why good is called bad and bad good today.

Jesus taught us do not become unevenly yoked with an unbeliever...for what sharing does light have with dark...or Christ with Belial?

Have you ever been in a pitch black room? and the door cracked open a bit? the whole room was filled with light. So a little would be too much..Like Jesus said it is too much to be a friend of an unbeliever.

I thikn tha tan Atheist who spent much time around Jesus would have his faith challenged beyond the capability to deny God. Jkesus was healing people all aorund him, even people who were well known to be blind, had palsy, etc. So why would an Atheist remain one after seeing those things happen? It would have to be pure stubborness.

I think the man, Jesus, would have respected the differences in people. There have always been atheists.

Even I can answer that and I'm not Christian.

I don't think he ever existed but the Jesus of the bible, if you actually read the thing, would never behave the way most Christians do now. In fact, he'd probably be horrified at modern Christian behavior.

Jesus would have loved them just as he loves anyone, but you dont find Jesus hanging with those who dont believe. When I say that I am not talking about when he taught or would heal them. I am talking about around him at all times. It was always his disciples.
