If you're asking about more commercial orange juice, it probably used to be trashed or composted. But go down your cleaning aisle at the store and note how much stuff contains "orange oil". Not sure it really cleans better, though it smells better, but it looks like a lot of the rind goes to making that.

You can Compost it and continue the cycle of life. Oranges have a high pH level so they help evergreen, firs, hydrangea, Rhododendrons to stay nice & healthy.
