Hi, I have had chronic thrush for many years now. Does anybody have a method/remedy etc that has helped them to clear up thrush. It is so bad that I basically live with it daily now:(

Also my partner has contracted it, and he never had it before meeting me.

Many Thanks

I have seen a doctor about this many times and seen a gynacologist and nothing works for me. No creams, pills etc. I mean the pills etc do work for a week or so and then it comes back

I agree with "mlgable" in that you may need Nystatin suspension. You hold it in the mouth and swish it around like mouthwash. You can then spit it out or swallow it.

"Thrush" is oral candidiasis and like most fungal infections it takes time to resolve. You may also require a systemic antifungal concurrently with this topical treatment. Once candidiasis gets a foothold, it can take a year or more to get rid of it. So both you and your partner need to be just as tenacious as the fungus and you both need to be under a doctor's care so that your treatments are simultaneous. Be tenacious and be consistent.

Thrush is contagious so you should not be kissing him if you have it. You need to use the Nystatin swish and spit or swallow from your doctor. You also need to eat lots of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules daily to help prevent yeast infections. Right now you both need to see your docs and get medicine for this and take the medicine until it is totally gone. No kissing or oral activities until it is totally cleared up.

It's hard to believe that you have this for many years now. I didn't think you'd do this to yourself but, I'll keep my opinions to myself.
I guess from the answers your getting you can see you'd better do something about it and fast. It's amazing it hasn't spread into something more dramatic by now.

I would suggest going to a doctor and telling him the whole story and sticking with him until it's gone entirely You are spreading it around.

Take care and good luck.

It is my understanding that Thrush is a type of yeast infection. Check with the doctor about taking the oral med for a vaginal yeast infection.

Many years? Geez, go see a doctor. What is wrong with you that you wait several years and then ask a bunch of strangers on the internet for help?
