ive never heard about olives being toxic to cats, however, salt is and olives from the jar are in brine (salt water) hence extremely salty.
while most cats love salty food, it doesnt mean its good for them.
feed your cat cat food and it might live a longer, healthier life.

Not only does my cat LOVE olives....we accidentally dropped an olive on the floor and he started rolling on it. Since then, if I have an available black olive, I'll put it on the kitchen floor for him for a few minutes so he can roll around and go crazy like he's on catnip! I didn't know anyone else's cat liked them.

I haven't tried black olives with my little guy yet. He does love to eat Pringles, Turkey, pizza as well as a lot of other things. He is the only one that loves table scraps, my 5 month old kitten will just smell the food then run away.

Yes!
I thought my cat was the only weirdo! lol. He can smell olives from a mile away. We had company over and had a bowl of olives on the kitchen table. We walked in the kitchen and the cat was eating away and lapping up all the pickle juice too!

I don't have an answer for you, except you aren't the only one...I once had a cat that had to have a bite of everything I ate...and he wasn't over weight from it either. It didn't matter what it was...except onions or chocolate, I let him taste. Turned out his favorite thing was peaches...I would eat off one side and he would eat off the other at the same time...=) He loved all kinds of fruit the most...just watch out for grapes...my vet said that they aren't good for the kidneys...something like that...I just didn't let him have them anymore.

We know that cats can be very strange animals.
I have a cat that is 17 years old. She will only eat Nine Lives Tuna as her wet food. Tuna, Tuna and Cheese and Tuna and Egg. Only that wet food. Dry, anything is OK.
When we are having dinner, especially take-out Chinese, she will sit in her chair next to mine and wait for me to give her the roast pork tidbits from the fried rice or from spare ribs! She loves it to a point that is bordering on addiction!
She will eat the cheese off of pizza and then gnaw away on the crust. She likes spaghetti. She loves fried chicken. She loves when we have baked fish.
In other words, she likes my dinner!
Cats are strange animals with strange tastes and each one is different and individual. If you are concerned that what your cat is eating might not be healthy for him, check with your vet.

I have a cat that loves chinese food (the veggies in the Happy Family and Triple Delight) never eats them any other time just in the chinese food. She also eat corn flakes dipped in peanut butter, dill pickles, and broccolli dipped in ranch dressing...now I think she is unusual and crazy...oh and by the way she plays fetch with a tennis ball (better than either of my dogs) LOL

My cat loves the juice from regular olives. She goes nuts every time I open a jar and will actually RUB the juice on herself! However, she won't eat them! *lol* Cats are funny that way. :)

My cat rolls on black olives...(like a dog rolls on something that stinks). I gave him one off a pizza a few weeks ago.
Not sure if he likes them or what the deal was with that...

I used to have a silver/grey tabby, and he LOVED green olives. He even knew the jar that they came in and would start to meow so loud and rub aganist my legs purring until I would give him one. He would then proceed to play with it for a few minuites and then he would eat around the pimento center. I would find dried pimento's under all the furniture when I vaccumed....it was so cute and funny!
