You asked a similar question about 2 hours ago, except that she was going to Iraq that time. So, I guess you are both going there? SHould not be hard if you both are there for 15 months. Or this is BS? My guess is the later.

Amor Vincet Omnia.... Love Conquers All. If you really love each other you will be able to get through the deployment. You don't need to put your relationship on hold and go out and party the entire time he is gone. Just remember while he is gone the relationship will take a little extra nurturing. There will also be a time of adjustment when he comes home. Take the time to send the hand written letters, the care packages, and photos. You would be surprised what little things like that can do for your relationship. They also say distance makes the heart grow fonder.

You hear the women crying the same blues about being away from each other, but that's the decision one makes when enlisting in the service and/or being involved with someone who is in the military. But you know as well as I, that gays are going to "party" no matter what. So just go out and have fun - if it works out when he comes home then great.

This is a very delicate situation. My advice to both of you is to try to put your relationship on hold. Muslims reject homosexuality more strongly than any culture I know of. Many wives, and significant others in relationships with deployed military wait until their partners finish the tour and resume their commitment. If both members are in the military, and are both deployed to the hot spot, if they are heterosexual, their efforts to connect occasionally is welcomed and they are given privacy to be intimate. I am sure the same amenities will not be provided to gay partners. In fact, you will both be given the 8 ball. Read my lips guys, this is reality.

Stand by him while he is gone and I will be praying he comes home safely to you and his family.

God bless.
