do you punish the kid for being molested? Or is that your fault and YOUR bad parenting for leaving them with a molester in the first place?

Would you do it as a test of your child's obediance? How long would you leave the child with the molester before you realized HE IS A MOLESTER, that shouldn't be left with your kids?

How does this relate to the tale of the Christian god tossing the devil down to earth, free to roam about in the garden of Eden, and then leaving him in charge of the Earth?

The concept of god as a loving and responsible father is totally at odds with him letting the snake in and leaving the dangerous tree of knowledge accessible.

I'm just a mere human father and not omniscient, but even I know this is a bad idea.

In both your example and mine, CPS would have locked god up and thrown away the key.

If I were to be foolish enough to leave my child with a known convicted child molester, and that child gets molested, then I would be at fault...and under such the state should take my child from me. (This would not happen however....a known child molester would not be anywhere near my children...upon threat to their life and limb).

The analogy here with the fall in the garden is completely flawed. Eve had the ability to reject the words of the serpent, nothing was forced upon her. She chose instead to disobey God Himself (and did Adam).
Such thinking is akin to our justice system and the "excuses" of the guilty used therein. Everyone has a "excuse" for what they do. Most often those "excuses" are trash, yet thinking such as this analogy sets the guilty free and justice is dead.

You make an excellent point. I have asked a similar question about what you would do if someone lied to your kid and the kid believed them. Would you toss the kid into the oven? Some god of love. Lets be logical here, people!

The first thing that should happen is for the police to take the child away from the parent(s) and never let them see it again. You NEVER, NEVER, NEVER do anything to "test" a child's obedience. You NEVER punish a child for being molested. What planet did you drop from? The child is ALWAYS AN INNOCENT VICTIM.

It has absolutely no relativity to God tossing the devil down to earth but it has everything to do with you being the sorriest of the sorry lowlife parent that you are. I hope that child hates you with every ounce of strength it has for the rest of your life for not protecting it and for allowing it to be molested. I already hate you!

You analogy doesn't hold water. You're trying to equate an evil act with an act of the will. Satan was not banished to earth (not yet, anyway), so he chose to come here and Adam and Eve chose to listen to him. God didn't put him in the garden, he put himself there. As for the tree being available when it was forbidden, how can one test another's obedience without laying down at least one rule? It's always been about a choice. Obey God or not. Plain and simple.

And God didn't automatically put them in the 'oven'. He's given us plenty of time to see our error and return to his grace. That would be obsurd.

It's not your child's fault at all, the molester should be punished to the full extent of the law. Children are in a learning stage and it up to you to guide them, however lawlessness prevalent in the US. It relates to the devil because he is the father of the lie and behind everything that is evil.

Indeed. The one with the power is the one with the responsibility, and in this story all kinds of mental acrobatics are involved to make the all-powerful deity not accountable for anything. Which is why it doesn't make philosophical sense, even if you didn't consider it fiction to begin with.

You are asking the same question twice?

There is a website that you can go to and check to see of convicted sex offenders in your area. But the trick is that the convicted sex offenders have to report in that they have moved. So if they haven't reported it, then they won't show up.

But as most parents will tell you, they won't use a babysitter without a referral from another parent or close friend, so the chances of this playing out are slim to none.

As for the rest of the question.... I think that you are crazy. The devil is not in charge of the earth. We have free will to do with what we want.

Well given the fact that you actually have a choice to not follow satan and be aka ' molested' as you put it, I really don't see the fault being God's, but more like the person choosing to be with satan. Anyone can find reasons to hate God, its obvious that you do. But to stoop to a level of lying and decietfulness in false accusations against God is such a trick of the devil too ;) hope you get therapy for your molestation

Since you copied and pasted your question from the parenting section, I'll copy and paste my reply:

So basically you're saying man is too stupid to have free will? That giving us free will is like allowing a child molester to babysit our kids? I agree that humans are too stupid for free will, but God didn't ask my opinion first. He expects more common sense from us than we apparently possess.
