So many words are spoken
Upon ears that strain to hear.
Words of light and of wisdom
And too words of hate and fear.
We must learn to hear 'tween them.
To the meaning it implies.
We must gently find the truth.
And not listen to the lies.
Words have double meaning.
They can twist and turn away.
So be careful to listen.
And doubly careful what you say.

True one must find the truth for themselves. Test the truth if you will.

I've often cautioned people who ask me how I handle the fighting and hate that goes on in here.

I have always told them, "Look beyond the words -- the questions and answers don't matter. Beneath the flames of war, a very subtle discussion is occuring, and many people don't even see it. Look for that conversation, and when you finally can see it, you'll know how to respond within it, and how to couch your answers in the flames of war."

Your poem sounds like a far more beautiful way of expressing that same concept.

There is some truth to the overall statement of this poem however the one problem that comes to mind is, how do a person determine what is truth and what is a lie? Sometime what we believe is the truth turns out to be a lie and what was consider to be a lie, is actually the truth.

I Think It Is Beautiful, with Lots Of Meaning! Reminds Me Of What God Says about The Tongue And How We Use It. >>Psalm 34:I3 "Keep Thy Tongue From Evil, And Thy Lips From Spreaking Guile" He Says "There Is Life And Death In The Tongue!" Your Poem Says It So Nice. >>>>>( I'd love to know who wrote it?) (Smile)

"We must gently find the truth.
And not listen to the lies."

That makes absolutely no sense.

Very sweet and nonspecific towards any groups or individuals, who might take offense out of habit. I love rhyme, so, excellent!
