Yes, I've heard that they actually taste sort of like almonds. But, like all foods if you havent eaten it before and then you consume too much you may get sick.

They are not reliable to devour. If you want to gross out your associates, do whatever else. Eating a live insect continuously has risks, and many micro organism may also be carried by way of Cicadas together with anthrax. Take into account, they are bugs that lived in the floor for 17 years. They will contain any illnesses determined in the ground.

I'd think they'd be pretty crunchy. I would not suggest that you eat them, but it is up to you.

I used to freak my little sister out when I'd gather the cicada skins that were stuck to trees and flick them in her hair. We're grown now and she STILL gets freaked out whenever she sees those things.

they're fine...have you ever accidentally eaten a fly?? i have....you'll be fine....your stomach acids will kill it right when you swallow it. peeple in other countries eat bugs on a regular bases; cockroaches, cicada, worms, etc.

Did not eat one. But you could do it. What I read is it is eaten by many wild animals and even dogs. So it cannot be harmful.
If you do eat one can you update us on the event please.
