After Joshua was commissioned my Moses, they crossed almost immediately I think (well....after Moses died of course)

All of the men & women who wandered for 40 years died off....all except those who were 20 years old & younger at the time that God proclaimed this semi-curse to the followers of Moses for their bickering & disobedience.

I think they were wandering for about forty years in the "wilderness" on what should have been no more than a week's journey. Maybe they didn't have a map in those days?
