Food I can bring with me to work, that don't take much time to prepare. I'm not on a diet or anything, I just like to try to eat as healthy as possible and have real energy. I'm getting tired of the salads, and wraps. I want some creative ideas. Thanks for all the help :)

I love Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal with yogurt, it ends up being 15g of protein, lots of fiber and it tastes great. I put Kashi in a bowl, spoon the yogurt over it and it is fantastic.

I like fruit salad and half a sandwich. Usually watermelon, stawberries, apple and grapes hold up very well. I never put condiments on the bread of the sandwich, it makes it soggy so I put mustard between the turkey & cheese.

I also love Kashi protein bars with an apple, that's load of protein to keep your brain going and the apple is good fiber. Did you know the act of eating an apple wakes you up more than coffee? I need that apple by lunctime.

I make pasta salad with an Italian (oil & vinegar) dressing. The pasta soaks up a lot of dressing, so be prepared to use a whole bottle of dressing per pound of pasta. Usually use mini penne pasta, celery, carrots, back olives, artichoke hearts, peas, cubes of mozerella and you can toss some chicken into it for added protein. That stuff willl keep in the fridge for 3-4 days, so you can eat it at work, at home, etc. I make it at night and by the next day everything is marinated and yummy.

I like chicken quesadillas too. They travel very well. I cook it at home, cut it into slices, pack it into a ziplock bag then reheat it at work. I make those the night before too. They hold up very well. I take salsa with me in a little gladware container and heat it up when I re-heat the quesadilla.

Marinated veggies that you spoon into whole wheat pita pockets are great, too. I cut up tomatoes, celery, broccoli, zuccini and add some salad dressing. I keep them away from the pita until I'm ready to eat. I put a thin slice of mozerlla into the pita then I spoon the veggies in. It's gooood.

Chinese Chicken salad travels really well. I use this recipe and it rocks! Even picky 2 year olds love this stuff, so that means it's excellent!http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_22367,00.html

Good luck and have a nice lunch!

I prescribe to the "mini meal" plan of six mini meals throughout the day. I am not trying to lose weight either, just eat healthy. Here is a sample of my daily eating plan: (Breakfast) - Lite 85 fruited yogurt with 1/4 sunflower nuts sprinkled in. (AM Snack) - Kashi TLC Trail Mix bar, (Lunch) Either a tuna salad sandwich or a "loaded" salad, such as a Southwest Ranch Chicken salad with a light salad dressing. (PM Snack) 1/2 cup fresh fruit and Triscuits. Plus, lots and lots of water. I probably drink 2 liters a day.

A good rule of thumb is to use the "divide your plate into 3 sections" rule - a fist sized serving of protein, twice the size of your fist serving of a non white carbohydrate (brown rice, wheat pasta, etc.) and twice the size of your fist serving of a raw or lightly steamed vegetable. Also, it helps to remember to eat correct portion sizes and keep your food as close to its natural state as you can. This will help your body to get all the nutrients it needs. I also take Every Woman multivitamins from New Chapter organics, and a supplement for stress/anxiety. They help my body get all the nutrients it needs to function well and at a sustained energy level.

I hope that I have at least given you a starting point. Once you start taking care of your body, you won't care what you eat, you'll just enjoy the benefits of feeling and looking great!

I eat a lot of pasta and whenever I make it for dinner, I make extra and then have it for lunch the next day. You don't even have to heat it up if you don't feel like it. To keep it from going off, I either put it in the fridge or in a lunchbox with an icebrick.

I make this pasta with fresh cooked chicken, whole wheat pasta, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese (low fat) not the plain version, something like tomatoe and basil. Mix it all togther on Sunday night and take a bowl full for lunch, just heat in microwave and eat. It will keep you full for a long time with the right amount of protien and good carbs. I mix up a box of pasta, whole package of fetta, a can of artichoke hearts, and chicken just how ever much you want. Usually use about 9 of the tenderloins. Good luck. If you dont like the artichoke hearts just omit them, you may want to add a little italian dressing so it wont be dry.

If you can deal with processed foods, the Lean Cuisine lunch plates are really good. They've increased their techology so the food comes out perfect every time and the meals are creative and taste good. You can usually get them on sale in the store for $2.00/each. I get 1-2 weeks worth every few months just for a change.

Peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat is good and easy it has carbs for long lasting energy. protein, and fruit. also some people don't like jelly and might like PB and banana or just plain PB. also try a fruit cup. and a sugary snack for a quick boost but carbs are the best for a lasting energy

My mom used to make home made bread and there was always something about it that was so filing! It was healthy (because it is homemade) and it tasted pretty good. If that is to much of a hassle for you, just try eating vegetables like carrots with ranch. Those never fail. Google it maybe.. Hope I helped! :)
