I served with the Army and while I was in Iraq we never seen or did any work with the so called Iraqi forces! If we wanna start to drop our body count,, we need to tell them to "Cowboy Up" and start to do their own work!

I also seen some reports that sometimes they leave for a week every month to go back home with their paycheck. They are not as diciplined as our Military, so they can't be fully counted on. I also heard another report of one incident where 2 soldiers got killed during an attack and there was a nearby Iraqi squad, and they ignored the gun fire. The more confidence the U.S. Military have of the their Army and Police, the more they will give them responsibility. If they leave it all up to them now. They will get taken down by the insurgents.

The problem is very simple; the Iraqi army has not been trained up to a standard where they can take on the insurgency, they are under attack by suicide bombers, they are being picked off when they go home, targeted by car bombers, they have little confidence built up as yet.
This all takes time, any original members of the Iragi military forces have to be vetted in case they still support the old regime.
US military personel get to go home after their tour the poor Iraqi soldiers have their neck on the line full time and the threat of a civil war is getting closer all the time.

Apparently the Iraqi police and military have taken over security in 70% of the country.

Remember that this is a 'good news' item so the press will ignore it.

Read the following link to a story about how the Iraqis went and stomped an insurgent attack.

I totally agree. I think the only reason we haven't done this yet is because of our own politicians. they all just sit home safely and are waiting for the Big Oil money to come rolling in once they bail out all of us normal people from the utter chaos they have created in the middle east. I hate Smiling Gladhands (those are politicians) they always say they hear what the people want but i am pretty sure the majority is ready to say F Iraq and all the people in it, bring are men and women home to their families and lets focus on fixing whats wrong in our own country. Being a world policeman is not why i am in the military right now, i did it to help our country, not go get blown up by some camel jockies or something.
