Humans beings are emotional creatures. Therefore, we take too many of our conclusions to extremes. Basing them on emotion instead of reason.
This is not the way of Creation. Which always brings things back into balance.
Humans themselves are the paradox. In that we are both a physical and spiritual being.
On the physical/over-emotional side. Ego becomes prideful, self-righteous, and hypocritical.
But the True emotional/spiritual side of Ego, is the desire for self-expression. Which gives rise to creativity and invention.

Creation is a funny thing. If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

I thought a paradox was an apparent contradiction, but no contradiction at all. Maybe that is how you are using the word, I wasn't sure. There does seem to be some apparent contradiciton there. Science says we are all energy so there is no real contradiction, just energy or spirit, force, in different states working together. And extremes are necessary sometime. Light is an extreme, Gray may be called a balance but is a specific frequency(or range of frequencies) and dark is the other extreme.
As to balance, blue is a specific absolute frequency, I would say, and not exactly a balance, in one sense, but an absolute in itself. Is that obscure enough. I just wanted to say that I think the world is all absolutes as everything is absolutely something. That makes it easier to understand things. Knowing about paradoxes you can resolve them, there are so many. Maybe everything has an apparent contradiction and that's why people get confused trying to take one or the other and not understand that they both have to be true and appear to contradict or it's not a paradox but just that one or both just aren't true. Hope that makes some sense.

Physical or biological? Remember that while stones too are physical things,in terms of corporality, plants and everything with life is more than mere physical. The physical part is just one aspect. Similarly, Conscious or Spiritual? Creatures or what?
It seems that you are creating your own paradoxes because your starting point , or principles, is vague and somewhat dubious. If your premiss were clear then there would have been a basis for responding to your paradox [ of humans] in clear terms. But if your categories are confused and narrow, the responses would too follow a similar trail.
I think you need to come squarely to an evolutionary perspective. As of now, that is the only consessus that we, as humans, share. Like it or not.

Ego is not the only way to creation and invention. There is talent, knack and logical extrapolation.
