Do you think its true? There is many different sources stating that it is true, but do you all honestly believe that the world is ending in only a few years? Why do you think this? How do you think its going to end?

Should I go out and have as much premaritail sex as possible before 2012 to make up for all I wont have when the world ends? =P

The world is not going to end in 2012. It was just as far as the seers of the past could see. We are in the start of a new dimension of thought now, with organized religion losing more power daily (i.e., female rights in the last decades). That is the major change.

I'm currently reading the book 'Apocalypse 2012' by Lawrence Joseph. I've been wondering about this whole 2012 thing for some time. What I've read so far says that "2012 is destined to be a year of unprecedented turmoil and upheaval." Factors that come into play in this belief include astronomy (which the Mayans were experts at without the benefit of telescopes or other tools we now have), time, the earth's spin, changes in the tilt of the Earth's axis, solar flares/radiation (which has increased substantially), and changes occurring to the Earth's magnetic field. Convergence of these factors is what the 2012 theory is based on. You only need to read chapter 1 of this book to get the premise of this belief. Apocalypse is not the only conclusion in this theory. Huge weather changes may be the outcome too. The Mayans were incredibly gifted when it came to astronomy and mathematics. They also developed a form of wring to record their information. It's worth reading up on this. I don't think anyone denies changes to our weather system anymore, so explore with an open mind.

Hi P,

#1...Don't listen to date setters.
#2...It will not be the end of the world; It will only be the end of the age.

When asked by His disciples regarding the sign of His second coming and the end of the age, Jesus said in Matthew 24:36, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

We won't know the exact time. We will only know the "season". Jesus explains the signs of the end of the age in chapter 24. But this time isn't a day set in stone. It is a time that God decides when His patience and long-suffering with mankind runs out...similar to the flood of Noah's time.

If you want to know how the age will end, read the books of Daniel & Revelation.

Regarding the premarital sex question...Why is that the first thing that always pops into people's mind when they think their life or the world as they know it is coming to an end? Remember...when you take your last breath on earth, your real life is only beginning. The question is, "Where are you going to spend eternity?"

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life...Trust me, my whole life changed.

Read the Bible, it's great for the soal...

The Inca's believe that this planet has had many reincarnations and science has backed them up with there theory. The Inca's calender stops at 2012 no need to have a calender if everyone is dead.
We will probably get hit by a asteroid like the way of the dinosaurs.
Yes have as much as you can before it all ends.

Anyone that has come up with a date for the end of the world was wrong and why would a dead bunch of ancient people have knowledge of the end of the world? They didn't use our calendar to begin with they had their own. I think this 'big deal' started when the Discovery or Biography channel had a show on the Mayans. Who would believe anything Leonard Nimoy would pronounce is beyond me, the only good stuff he ever did was play Spock. :-)

Originally their were theories that the year 2000 was going to be the end of the world. Jehovah Witnesses and several other cults and religions also made false prophecies throughout the last century that God was going to rain down fire and destruction on people who didn't join these faiths, but guess what?....WE"RE STILL HERE. Life still went on. We're still going to work. We're still paying our taxes. We're still taking care of our families. Life in 2012 will be the exact same thing. No wrath from "God". No world leaders using nukes to commit genocide on the world's population and/or destroy the earth itself....no, nothing.

No I don't think it is true. Though with all these bad things happening the world these days, you can't help but think the end must be near.

No sources, no matter how "reliable" they might be, can't state when the end of the world will happen. Or rather they can state it all they want, but it's not fact.

it all started, if my info and memory serves, with the aztecs, who's calender ends in 2012. but the more scholarly of the scholars believe that it's just a phase in the calender, such as our decade, or century, but on a much larger scale. some thousands of years, actually. anyway, having supposedly fortold of their own death there was no need to fortell anything about the epoch starting hundreds of years after their death.

well, Mayan Calendar (which is one source that tells us the world will end in Dec. 23, 2012) is only off by 23 seconds and has been accurate to the date.....so I think it could be true...

For the first part of your question I'd say NO! Because Armageddon won't happen until God allows it, and that won't be until everyone on earth has had an opportunity to hear the truth. You see, God will spare the innocent.

But He will in no way acquit the guilty. So if you want to be left behind in your v.d. infested state. Copulate all you want--the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom.
